Rhode Island Medical Imaging — Local services in Johnston

Scheduling of appointments is terrible. Representatives are rude. I was lied to by one representative who informed Me the Johnston location was booked until the end of the year. I knew this was a lie so I called back to get someone else on the phone who scheduled an appointment for me in Johnston that week. However when I arrived for my 8:15 appointment at 8:17 I was told that I was late because I did not arrive 15 minutes early. The receptionist told me I would have to come back. When I protested she spoke to her boss who informed me I could still keep that appointment however in the future to remember if your not 15 minutes early you are late. I informed her there was going to be no next time because I would get my mammogram somewhere else next year. I also suggested they be more understanding and less rude to their patients who have busy lives and are just trying to have cancer screenings. Maybe they are prejudiced toward “sis women “ who are trying to stay alive. I find that compassion and professionalism in the medical community has decreased overall across the board toward my demographic and my dog gets more compassionate care at her vet. This seems to be the norm and standard. I will just expect crazy bad lying service when I seek medical screening and care and be surprised when I actually get good...

I've been going to RIMI for my mammograms for years. The staff is always most conscientious, especially the tech girls - gentle and kind. I went this past Thursday, and have never had such a poor experience with a tech - she was rough and uncaring, caused me much unnecessary pain (much more than discomfort) and was totally unresponsive when I told her she was being too rough, except tell me that it made for a good picture. She claims to have been a tech for 16 years - which I can't understand why anybody would let her continue in this job if this is the way she consistently did it. I requested not to have "K" as my tech again, and will insure that she is not on the schedule I am...

This location seems to be the worse one I've been to yet! I understand that sometimes timing doesn't go as planned and they may fall behind but over an hour, seriously need to do better. My appt was for 930, after sitting and waiting for 45 min they came to tell me, "oh she's running behind it's going to be another 25 min wait."
