Reviews didn’t draw me in. My son-in-law drew me in. From NEA Mattress Direct & Furniture he made several home furnishing purchases. All went without a hitch. Even the order he placed. Seems chaos occurs for some.
Yes, my sales associate was friendly. Yes, the store was clean & stocked. Factors play into those. Sales people, I’m speaking of genuine sales people, are going to be cordial & assist from entering to end of sale. This to be said not all sales associates can multitask. Professionalism & knowledge was lacking. Which is an easy fix, if desired.
My experience was a disaster. I was exhausted from the whole process. Upon visiting the store I found exactly what I was looking for, a rocker recliner & swivel rocker. Here comes my nightmare.
I was looking to increase my credit rating. After paying off my vehicle my credit score plunged. Synchrony Care Card is my only credit history with a 100% pay on time. However, that doesn’t boost your credit score. With financing available I thought this was the opportunity to increase my credit score. First was offered a payment this retired widow’s pocket book couldn’t squeeze to pay. A finance option with no interests if paid off within time period, great option, just not for me. So back to the drawing board.
Attempt was made with Synchrony, system was down. Which happens. This went on for a couple of days. Finally got a call. Was informed could finally run a soft credit check with Synchrony. No go. So I was informed a new finance company was coming aboard. Went a few more days no word. I had to make a follow up call on my own sale. Came to find it would be a few more days. Yes, I should’ve just washed my hands of it.
Here we are 10 days from the day I walked into the store. Finally established with the new finance company. I was actually going to be their first customer with the new finance company. Call me the Guinea Pig. Upon returning to the store my sales associate was busy. I walked the showroom awaiting her & found a recliner I wanted in lieu of the swivel rocker. She gave me the price which was the same as the other. I advised her I’d rather have the 2 recliners than the swivel recliner. Here we go to experiment with the new finance company. No go again! So now here I have hard hit on my credit & wait for an inquiry of why!
Yep! Should’ve been the sign to walk away. From the beginning nothing but disaster. It didn’t stop. So I just pay cash, $1435.36. Now here I’ve been 10 days out & having to wait another 3 days for delivery. Then the delivery wasn’t made as scheduled. Vehicle break down, it happens. Upon my delivery comes the swivel rocker in lieu of the recliner I advised I wish to switch out. Another trip to the store. This mishap costed me an additional $252. Difference between the cost of the swivel rocker & recliner. plus $35 delivery charge. Already paid $100 delivery, which many places charge for delivery. The sales associate turned the mishap around on me. Stated she never heard me say I wanted to switch out.
The old me would’ve told them to come get the their merchandise & refund my money. But God has a way of handling situations such as these. We may be able to hide things for one another but him we cannot! My sales associate is in my prayers. She is friendly no doubt, but her organizational skills definitely need assistance. She is all over her desk, the showroom, her cost book, along with the store phone & personal phone that is visible she gets overwhelmed. So as God directed me I went with the flow.
I have concerns with their financing. Made contact with Synchrony regarding my credit turndown & it was unexplained. All was well till we went to purchase and order the mattress and then the problem surfaced 1. We were told we don't carry that line of mattress anymore and cant get it.
