The women with the dark hair is consistently rude and often beyond rude. I have ended up walking out several times because of her way out of line behavior, yelling and this time even throwing the food. Once a was wanting to buy pasta from the deli, there was no plastic ware i asked if there was any of perhaps they could pull a box from the isle of forks. Never demanding only a question, idea, solution, she was quickly angered and again very rude. I left with out purchasing anything. Today I walked in for a quick snack there was not one thing in the heated food I said "oh darn" she said something snooty I paid no attention to it and moved over to the pre-made pasta which are really good there. There was Mac salad reg priced at 2.89 it had a sticker on it 50% off. When I went to check out i asked "is this the full price?" She said "no!" then says she'll give me a deal and sell it to me for $1.50, my response was "thats not 50% off" no big deal she was like " oh its like 4 cents or something... "yeah but then you're not giving me a deal your'e charging me more than the marked down price." Thats when she absolutely lost it, thru the food and went off! I was polite answering yes mam no mam.....she crazy.and i have again walked out without purchasing anything. This sort of behavior is not acceptable amongst people just in passing let alone someone in customer service. I am blown away with how ugly she treat people. I dont think ill be back in to face her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is mostly your typical small grocery store, but with some added bonuses.
The Good: You can often find some local produce and the produce is quite fresh. It has a large selection of non-alcoholic beverages, including Kombucha on tap. If you like smoked meats, you are in for a real treat and so is your pup (they carry local smoked dog bones). They also carry beans from our local coffee roaster which many people rave about (I prefer blonde roasts). The remodeling that was done is really great, and if you are grabbing lunch, there's a place to sit, eat and people watch.
The Not-So-Good: It is over-priced compared to the grocery stores in enterprise, which they can get away with being the only one in town. Ready-to-eat foods need improvement: the sandwiches are mostly bread that look much better than they taste, pasta salads and such are bland, and the hot food section is neither hot, nor labeled correctly (I have gotten 2 pulled pork sandwiches and a chicken sandwich all luke warm and labeled as some other food). They used to have a great bakery called Vanilla Stag, which is gone now.
The good far outweighs the not-so-good considering that this is a little small-town market, though I do prefer Ruby Peak Naturals ad...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMt. Joseph Family Foods is a lovely, family friendly, and easily accessible grocery store on the main road in Joseph Oregon. Service is excellent, and for being a small community store, the options for groceries, deli foods, and smoked meats are quite varied. Some smoked meats carried include Elk and Buffalo, and are made in house fresh. You can also get your ice, firewood, and propane at the store, and (depending on availability) can also have your hunt hung and butchered. As of September 2017, fees for hanging are a $25 fee for the first 1-3 days and then $7 daily after the initial 3 days. If you have the need for certain spices or seasonings, the store has an exceptional selection including things like Saffron, and even less common spices such as Cardomam and Juniper Berries. All in all, shopping here is a great experience with friendly, helpful, and attentive employees. If you have the need for groceries, Mt. Joseph Family Foods is the...
