On a rainy fourth of July walking into Arrowhead initially feels like haven. Warm cafe vibes mixed with rich chocolate aromas hit you right at the door. The service felt pressed. I don't know if it was large crowds for the holiday or what but by the time we got to the counter it felt like the vibe was "NEXT!" The worker at the counter of course didn't say it but everything felt kind of rushed. I should have taken more time to decide what I wanted but I didn't and it was because of the atmosphere of everything going on that I felt pressured to just pick something in a hurry. The hot chocolate was rich but had a ton of froth on the top. It felt like drinking froth for half the cup which I didn't really care for. Maybe they use cream and steamed it a bit too much, I don't know. The glob of chocolate syrup on the brim didn't seem intentional either and definitely didn't add to the experience other than getting chocolate sauce on my hand and beard. My wife enjoyed her white mocha and kept helping me see the positives through the coffee break. The truffles were small but intense, which is good considering they're almost $3/each. Mine was raspberry and it was pretty good. My wife ordered salted caramel and I didn't see her finish hers, but I'm sure she likes it. They have nice seating, including a mezzanine tucked in the back of the shop that a medium to large sized party could occupy for extra privacy and comfort. The mezzanine had a round table and chairs, surrounded by some leather seating. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Next time we're in Joseph we'll likely try this place again. I want to give it 5 stars and I think being there on a slower day would probably give that kind...

Many of the locals mourn the loss of the "soulfullness" that used to make this place so special. I have no doubt that this place is making a more sizable profit since the new owners purchased the business from the original owners a few years ago.
09/02/2017 (5 stars): I've been a customer here since they opened 7 years ago. Their service and the quality of the products here have so much passion put into them and it is obvious from the moment you taste one of the chocolates or try a sip of coffee. I also just had the opportunity to start working here while on break from college. I can honestly attest to the quality of this business "behind the scenes". I have worked in a variety of atmospheres, from hospitality/tourism to federal government, and I have never encountered a more positive and wholesome environment to work in. The attention to customer service and quality product sourcing/formulation has taught me that a business doesn't have to be about making money convenient, it can be about bringing a community together and providing artfully formulated things to brighten lives. I highly recommend everyone check this place out, even if only to drop in and chat with the staff. This is a great place...
Read moreAs we were walking around the little town of Joseph, we happen to notice that Arrowhead Chocolates served Stumptown Coffee. Being from Portland where we are spoiled with amazing coffee shops, we had been on the lookout for good coffee. We decided to go in for a latte and were more than pleasantly surprised by our experience. The very friendly woman who took our coffee order invited us back at 2:00 to watch how they dip their chocolates. We came back at 2:00, and they invited us behind the counter to watch the owner hand dip their award-winning huckleberry chocolates. The coffee was some of the best we have ever tasted, and they give all of the customers who order a chocolate drink, a chocolate-dipped spoon to lick. The baristas told us to make ourselves at home and to help ourselves to samples. The chocolates were amazing, and we also had a delicious spiced caramel apple cider and walnut pecan scone. We could have stayed there all day! If you are anywhere near the town of Joseph, you have to visit...
