I recently had a disappointing experience at Joshua Deer Processing (JDP) that I feel compelled to share. My mother, who is not a hunter, was picking up a deer that we had shot for her. Being unfamiliar with the process, she encountered confusion when she noticed that her box was marked "1 of 2 Sack." She only received the one box that was marked according. She did not receive a sack. As someone who has utilized JDP for many years, I was taken aback when my mother called to inquire about the marking and was met with rudeness and dismissiveness from Dana.

It is essential for businesses like Joshua Deer Processing to uphold a professional standard of customer service. Instead of being met with hostility, customers should be provided with clear and courteous explanations for any markings or discrepancies on their items. If the marking on my mother's box was an honest mistake, JDP should take the necessary steps to rectify their system and ensure that such incidents do not reoccur...

I shot my first deer back in November 2024, had this place recommended by the people who took me hunting, and finally got to eat it in July 2025.

I have no standard to set my experience against but I don’t think I need one to say this place was top notch.

First of all, the lady at the counter was super helpful walking me through my options for how to process my deer. Able to explain what I could do with what options and what she liked and gave solid recommendations.

Second and most important, due to be stationed in Washington my deer has been in a family members deep freezer for 9 months and now that I can finally thaw and enjoy it, it held up and was packaged extremely well.

Again, I have no standard to set this against, and I never will. They will always have...

There's good, there's great, there's even excellent ... then there's Joshual Deer Processing who's simply THE BEST, ever! We've had deer processed all over Texas ... and have had the privledge of eating wild game and exotics that've been processed from places all over the country. I can tell you hands down, this is the best. I don't know what his trade secrets are but the guy has it figured out. Not only was the processing quality fantastic, the level of customer service provided was top notch! He even gave us a beer recommendation to pair with the meat. If you're looking for an excellent processor who's both friendly and fair with his pricing .. look no further, Joshua Deer is your guy! I'll never take an animal...
