A Disappointing Sewing Experience My daughter and I recently attended a quilting class at Sandy's and were incredibly disappointed with the assistant instructor. While the initial concept of the class was promising, the overall experience was marred by the assistant instructor's overbearing and know it all demeanor. Instead of fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment, the instructor spent most of the class micromanaging every student's work, often making critical comments that were both unnecessary and hurtful. The sheer number of corrections was enough to discourage anyone from continuing quilting. Instead of choosing a couple of important areas to correct, she inundated my adult daughter with critical corrections at every step, including admonishing her for asking me a question instead of her. Her lack of patience and empathy created a stressful and intimidating atmosphere. It's disheartening to encounter such a negative experience, especially in a hobby that is meant to be relaxing and enjoyable and would have been so if the guest instructor had been allowed to lead. She was delightful and helpful in all her tips! I hope that the shop takes steps to address this issue and ensure that future classes are led by instructors who are both knowledgeable...

I was told it was $100, but when I picked it up it was $119. The owner was extremely condescending to me when I dropped off the machine, and when I returned to pick it up She asked a yes or no question, I replied with a clear no and then briefly explained why my answer was no. She then belittled me saying she needed a clear yes or no. I honestly have never been spoken to like that, and because of that reason, I'll never come back. The person who checked me out was very kind and helpful,...
Read moreHonestly not a bad shop for fabric but some of the people that work there are very belittling and make you feel dumb. I just started quilting and I feel like it should always feel like a fun experience but I don’t like being talked to or treated like I’m incompetent of doing simple things. I’m not really one to write a review but this just wasn’t a good experience for me so I won’t be coming back. To the staff, please reflect on how you treat people and remember that no one is perfect and everyone is just trying to find a fun hobby to do. It’s not...
