I purchased a RAM 1500 from Auto Connection via an AutoTrader ad in June. Sales process was simple and quick. In and out the door in an hour. The truck was about as expected for a used truck. They offered it âbelow market valueâ but itâs because it needed front brakes, an alignment, an oil change, and warranty work done to it so by the time Iâve spent that much time and money over the last 30 days Iâm about even with the market value with no real money saved. I made the drive because I wanted the miles and color.
They low balled me on the trade in due to the need to paint a bumper on my 2018 model car but the vehicle (Mazda 6) is listed for sale $3,000 over trade value with no repairs made. Typical dealer games.
Now hereâs where the issues really started. About 2-3 weeks after purchase my bank called to tell me I was nearing a payment on my loan for the trade-in and the dealer had never paid the vehicle off. Obviously Iâm immediately annoyed. I call to frankly ask why Iâm being told this and after a day of phone tag Jessica, the lady who does paperwork, finally admits she forgot to send the payoff. I guess $20,000+ sitting in an account doesnât draw the bookkeepers attention. They managed to get the payoff there one day before I got a late payment on my credit.
Now itâs July 30 and my tag expired July 28. I messaged the salesman two weeks ago as a reminder that I need tags processed. I messaged last week again as a reminder. âIâll check on it.â No reply. No offer for a temporary tag. Monday comes... nothing. No state tag, no offer to send me another temporary tag. I call yesterday to figure out the issue. Iâm transferred to the lady who does paperwork, Jessica. Voicemail. Text and ask her to call me as soon as possible. Silence. Call at 4:50 sheâs gone for the day. Finally call and speak to the manager, Josh, who assures me he will speak to her first thing this morning and call me. Itâs Noon and Iâve heard nothing.
Iâve been buying cars for 16 years. My family is in the automobile business in Virginia. Iâve seen the good and the bad of the industry. I canât in good faith recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from this place. Theyâre quick to strike a deal with you but thatâs only the easiest part of the job. The real lackluster experience began for me in what came after.
Reviews speak today and I hope this one speaks to anyone whoâs considering AutoConnection for a used vehicle. There are lots of options today and I would tread...
Read moreMy wife recently bought a car here and has had nothing but problems out of it. Any time sheâs tried to go up there to get anything addressed sheâs been asked to talk to the manager, who was, in turn, VERY RUDE and very condescending to her. Buying a new family vehicle is supposed to be a fun and exciting experience, like buying a home. But instead it has been stressful beyond explanation. Sheâs had to have multiple things fixed and replaced with the car, and the only part of it thatâs really bothered us is the way my wife has been treated by the manager in the âshow room.â If you like doing business with people that wonât shake your hand, or make eye contact, people that wonât apologize when mistakes are made, people that donât show basic respect, or people that will treat you as an inconvienece after you spend thousands of dollars with them, then this may be the place for you to buy your family vehicle! đJust make sure youâve got an extra car, because if your luck here goes as ours did, your brand new car will be spending A LOT OF TIME in the service department.
The only positive thing I can say about this place is that Tony in the service department has been kind to my wife, and helped her to figure out issues thus far. We just dropped my wifeâs car off again today to get more things fixed, and I feel confident Tony will get it taken care of. Itâs really just about the way you treat people, in ANY business, and in our experience, auto connection stops treating you kindly after the loan gets approved and you sign the paperwork. But hey, at least the service...
Read moreSo let me start off by saying I have a little over 30+ vehicles under my belt, buying from all over the country. And of all of the car buying experiences I have had, this one takes it to a whole new height for me. I will forever compare every dealership (new and used cars) to this one. The guys working here are some of the most welcoming professional people I have bought from. They will not sugar coat, they will not coax you into a deal you aren't comfortable with and they will always be realistic with you. Something I have massive amounts of respect for. Clay is a great guy to talk too, fantastic salesman, all of the sales floor guys are extremely easy to like and get along with. The service department is one of the best shops I have ever seen in a dealership rivaling most standalone shops I have worked with. The finance staff is amazing. Josh I know you're reading this, it was truly a pleasure to work with you. I grew up here and I kid you not as I am buying not once but twice two people who I consider family knew each and everyone of these guys and it really felt like a family here. I cant say enough good things about this dealership. If you are looking to buy a car, truck, horse and buggy (probably) these guys should be your go to. They will take care of you. Thanks again to the...
