For the record, this review is being left by an irritated mother regarding an experience my son had with this business. I was party to this experience.
He uses this computer for school, coding, and gaming. It was important it was repaired so he could use it for school. (He has a laptop he could get by with).
My son dropped his PC off 17 days prior. He paid a $35 diagnostic fee. At this time, no date was given for diagnosing.
(As a mom, I warned him that this is NOT what businesses are supposed to do and never leave your equipment without a clear diagnostic timeline).
After 1 week and no response from them, I had my son call them. They responded "we don't know what the issue is yet". No timeline was given, again.
At the 17 day mark, I had him call again. He had them on speaker phone, while I listened. A woman answered and mentioned they haven't gotten to it yet. When my son pressed for a diagnostic timeline, she refused to give one and stated this computer had been in the shop "before and wasn't fixed"... so it's "more complicated".
For your understanding... This has NOTHING to do with them diagnosing the computer. My son was giving a detailed history of his equipment and installed items when he dropped it off. He is very detailed with it's history. It had been to another shop for a small issue, which my son had explained at time of drop-off.
This is just mind blowing to use this as an excuse or not attempting to diagnose or give an ETA on diagnosis.
When pressed again for a timeline, he asked her if it would be diagnosed within 2 weeks. She replied that "if I said 2 weeks I would be lying, because there's no way I could tell when we're going to get to it".
🤦♀️
With that, my son and I immediately drove over to get his computer. We didn't give notice of this to prevent them from doing some crappy diagnosis, keeping the diagnosis fee, and/or ruining the PC in some way.
Well... We walked into their shop and his dang PC was plugged in on their worktable and powered on!?!?!?
They can't touch it in 17 days prior... and refuse to give a timeline on diagnosing for the future 2 weeks... but now it's magically on their worktable?!?!
We realized after the fact, they had never asked for my son's password. As a computer repair shop.... how do you miss that detail?
The woman promptly refunded his $35 and gave my son his PC. My son confirmed all the parts were there.
She misplaced his $175 mouse... So she was trying to find it for quite a while.
They have a little window you can view their work area... so we began looking. I saw his mouse underneath their worktable. She reached under and got it for him.
At no time were we hot-headed. We weren't too chatty. We were serious with understandable (and justifiable) irritation.
She acted professional.. and oddly calm (does this happen frequently enough she keeps her cool)?
The whole thing was just weird and odd.
After this experience, we have NO clue how they have such high google reviews.
Crappy service. Bad follow through
The only thing they did right was a speedy refund and return of equipment.
Horrible Do not recommend 5👎
Editing to add: We found another business that was able to diagnose (with cost estimate) in only a couple of days, and it was entirely fixed within the week. For less than $200. You're able to see their name and review...

I am a competitor with 23 years of experience in repairing cellphones and computers. I write this review because of the inflammatory review that another competitor left for kevin (regarding HDMI repairs). I won’t mention names but you can find it if you’re an astute client.
Kevin is a kind hearted knowledgeable expert in his trade. He understands more about BBC (bulging battery conditions) and Micro Isobutane Loaded Flame than 90% of other specialist in the field. He’s so talented and giving, he randomly called my repair shop in Frederick Maryland to give us advice with technical diagram that helped me provide a $1200 passcode unlocking service to a client who needed immediate help.
I don’t need to list all the times he’s saved the butts of other repair technicians across the country and international lines. Folks in Kansas City are lucky to have a well humored, prized technician like kevin in their town.
But like all great people in our world, kevin is human and does have his weakness's. This man does not know how to price his services fairly! His repair quality and technical knowledge surpassss that of APPO Squad and Bestest Buys geniuses but he’s consistently billing below market rate. This may seem beneficial to clients at first but unfortunately for the non-technical clients that believe that every repair should flow like a YouTube / TikTok video - they inadvertently misjudge Kevin’s mastery. Ludicrous low prices does not equate to low quality! However some of the visitors at txk repairs will rant and rage just because their Burger King didn’t come with a paper crown.
With that being said, I am stringent on my assessments of other competitors so Kevin’s rating is 4.5 star out of 5.00 and until he learns how to price his services better to match his caliber of expertise, I’ll have to withhold the...
Read moreWe took in a PS5 to have the HDMI port replaced. They took the money and shipped it off. We called after a couple of weeks and they stated "it was not worth it for them to fix it." Um, what? Apparently the dust inside scared some snowflake away. The person, owner I take it, was convincing that when "PS5s get dirty, they are no longer worth repairing" and kept $60, didn't repair it, and gave it all back as a pile of parts in a trash bag.
I've been in IT for 26 years. Mainboards, power supplies, heatsinks - they all pull in dust. You clean it and move on. I wouild have done this repair myself if I had the proper stuff in hand to resolder the HDMI port. But I didn't and wanted to help a local business as I own one myself. In this case, I am not sure what to say. If I ran my business this poorly, I would not have a business. Or at least one that looses lots of money and customers.
The proper solution would have been to re-assemble the PS5 as it was and fully refund the money since no services...
