Menards — Local services in Kearney

We purchased a $4000 fridge from there. It took a few weeks for it to be delivered. A few days after installing it, we noticed that the freezer door was frozen and the freezer was freezing over. It was not usable. Also, the ice maker didn't work and there were numerous scratches and dents on it. I called Menards and they told me I had to call Whirlpool and go through the warranty. They basically said it wasn't their issue anymore. I called Whirlpool and they said the fridge had been delivered to Menards in 2019 and the warranty had expired. Luckily, we were able to prove date of purchase and the warranty has been reinstalled By Whirlpool. We have had to wait a few weeks to be able to get someone to service it though and have been without a freezer. Menards was not helpful throughout the process. They sold a broken fridge with no warranty and basically refused to take responsibilitY. The only response I got was that a $4000 fridge doesn't sell very often so it wasn't there fault the fridge had been there since 2019. The manager I talked to said the issues was going to be "escalated@ but I never heard back from them. When I called Menards to follow up, I was told I was going to be transferred to a manager but just got hung up on. I still can't believe that this company thinks it's ok to sell broken products! I'm definitely taking my business elsewhere...

Great selection. Higher prices. Poor service. I went to get 6 concrete builders blocks. I asked service desk how to do it. They said best way would be to grab a cart and go to garden center and get them. The Bricks were clear out in the yard. There was no UPC for me to take for the Bricks I could get to. There was no way to get help out there. I found some for $. 99 snd $. 94 but the $. 94 were too high for me to get. I am disabled. I have fibromyalgia chronic pain with muscle seuzures. I found some that looked like the $. 94 that were too high lower were I could get them. There was no price above these. I walked all the way back to checkout. They had no way to check Builders blocks other than the catalog for decorativerick. They measured and decided the Bricks were $1.30 ea. I said That is not the pricing I saw. The Manger who came said they were going to make me haul those bricks all way back to were I got them and she would call for someone to help me. I was too worn out. I am still shaking. I could understand the hard line lack of service if I had not asked for helo, if I had been rude from the beginning. This seemed like a setup to get the maximum price for the products in the ysrd. Heaven help the poor sap that is not in construction who goes...

We’ve been long time customers at this Menards… we’ve left reviews before , always 5s… but unfortunately not this time. I know Menards is like everyone right now with having trouble with hiring employees, but the level of customer service we have come to know and expect at our Kearney Menards has sadly disappeared. Our last two visits, our interactions with a south service desk employee/manager has caused us to just decide to order online from Home Depot or Amazon rather than buy from our local Menards store. Each interaction we have with this young man is curt, non- hospitable, and frankly aside from him just telling us he could care less… he’s telling us he could care less. The irony that he has been assigned to the ‘service desk’ is definitely not wasted on us 😉. A position where he is not interacting with customers ( especially when he’s costing the store business) might be better suited for him. On a bright note- Payge was our cashier. She was beyond pleasant and helpful. Please be sure to commend her for her customer service skills and maybe a move to the service desk… as she certainly knows how to care for customers and positively...
