In May i Brought the dress in for a fitting and Discussed what I needed done to the dress. Discussed worse case scenario pricing and was told it probably wouldn't be worse case scenario. Was told to bring my dress mid June and it would be done mid July. Followed up several times. Went to seamstress shop Aug 1st and it wasn't even started and my wedding is Aug 11th. She said come back the 4th as she hadn't started it. I was frustrated because we would not know if she was simply going to take it out or have to put a corset back in until she opened it up to see what sort of material she was working with in the dress. So I told her I was unavailable on the fourth and I would be back on the 6th. The morning of the six I got there she was still working on it however she did call me later that afternoon to come and take a look. Throughout this process I asked multiple times about how much it would be-as I was trying to establish a range. I was told worse case scenario if she had to put a corset back in, it would be $70 for that part. So to my surprise when I showed up this afternoon to pick it up it was $200 plus tax to be let out( NOT The worst case scenario of the corset being put in)and a hem. Don't get me wrong the work done was sufficient however it was very inconvenient being that I was left with no options when I took my dress in two months before my wedding and didn't get it back until a few days before my wedding. I also didn't have the courtesy of knowing a range of how much this would cost me but what I was told was nowhere near what I ended up paying. So for those in the future who need seamstress work done she does a good job but you may want to get a price upfront and a specific time frame for your work to...
Read moreI brought my ball gown (for this Marine Corps Ball I went to) to Maria back in 2019 and I still recommend anyone who needs alterations done to go straight to her. I wholeheartedly support small businesses so I love taking all my tailoring needs here.
I was super small back then and it was hard to find anything in my size (even a size 0 dress was a tad big for me) so when I was told to go to her for the first time, I was a little nervous at first because typically people are used to going to more well-known shops, like I was. But Maria made the entire process so comfortable and easy. Like a few others on here, I was a bit last minute on taking my dress here since the dress came in the mail late. But she made sure it got done right and on time. She explained the whole process clearly too before she did anything. At checkout she told me she added a pocket as I had mentioned before that I needed at least one for the gown. The way the dress fit was almost magical, plus the pocket made it so much easier for me at the Ball so I didn’t have to worry about carrying a purse/clutch. All that for a reasonable & inexpensive price.
I will ALWAYS recommend her shop and I will ALWAYS trust her with any of my alternation needs. She deserves all the good recognition...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Maria at her alteration shop, and I must say it was incredibly disappointing. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that Maria was more interested in giving her personal opinions rather than listening to my needs.
Whenever I tried to explain what I wanted, she would belittle me and dismiss my ideas, making me feel like my preferences didn’t matter. Not only that, but she had a habit of talking over me whenever I spoke, making it nearly impossible to convey my requirements.
Furthermore, Maria seemed incredibly overwhelmed and frazzled during our interaction, which made me question her ability to handle her business effectively. It was evident that she was not focused on providing quality customer service or ensuring customer satisfaction.
Overall, my experience with Maria was extremely negative, and I would never consider going back to her alteration shop again. Her lack of professionalism, refusal to listen, and disrespectful demeanor left me feeling frustrated and...
