LAURATASH CAKES — Local services in Killeen

Call Laura for a cake for my son’s college graduation. No hesitation on her part to do the cake on short notice. Let me start by saying the cake was BEAUTIFULLY decorated. Once we cut in the cake after 2 hours the cake was HARD and COLD. I ordered a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. As you can see from the pictures the CAKE is YELLOW. I text Laura to explain that the cake was inedible and she text back to say “the cake was baked at 5pm the day before, she does not have stale cakes and she bake to order. I asked again if she would bake another cake on a smaller scale, so we could have something for our celebration. I texted her again after trying later in the evening to eat the cake. Still the cake was HARD and DRY. Her explanation was “the cake has a thin layer of ganache to maintain the design of cake. “ I again asked if she could bake a fresh cake on a smaller scale or if I could get a percentage of my money back to get a cake from someone else. I mean how hard is it to add a few more eggs to make a moist cake. After several days and attempts to resolve the issue Laura has stop responding to me. Her last message basically stated “ she would be unable to issue a refund or bake another cake because it is a recipe that is constantly used and it is a MATTER OF PERSONAL PREFERENCE.” She also stated, “ that as a small business she STRIVES to satisfy all her customers.” After paying $150 for cake that 98% of it is just sitting on the counter uneaten. I would think if customer satisfaction is a big thing for small businesses Laura would try to make it right. Obviously, money is more important than making the customer happy and satisfied. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED 😔

@ Laura it’s very obvious that you didn’t read our conversation because I said 95% of the cake was on the counter uneaten. Let’s be very clear on a few things I was polite to you , ask you to make it right you refused, ask for a percentage of my money back to get a cake from somewhere else and you refused. I would have taken a dozen of decorative cookies. You never tried or offered anything. Just admit it you took the money and didn’t care about the client. And I am speaking from my experience not everyone else’s experience....

My husband requested in wanting a last minute celebration to commemorate his 20-year service in the army. So, with just a week from the date of celebration, I reached out to Lauratash Cakes to see if she would take me on. To my surprise, she said yes, considering that I wanted quite a big cake and certain decorations. She came through, and my my my my it was breathtaking when I saw it at pick up and even better it tasted amazing, the flavors and moist. I went with two flavor cakes, almond flavor with a buttercream filling, and a redvelvet flavor with cookies and cream filling. So delicious! I plan on ordering my birthday cake from her.
