I had to pull out my inner Karen and let the manager or whoever know not to send someone to try to pry someone's identity from them. I was fascinated and pleased to see there was a fresh produce section. Let an employee know (while looking like a happy tourist because I basically was) that I wanted to take a picture because I'd never seen that before in a Dollar General.
I go about shopping and minutes later the employee comes up to me wanting to know who I'm with. All serious. I'm like...what? She says her manager sent her to find out who I work for. I told her something along the lines of that not being normal. When she persisted wanting to know who I'm with I told her I was a shopper. She walked away empty handed. I saw her with the manager lady and basically let her know that wasn't proper behavior. She said she'd need to know in case I was an auditor.
I don't exactly know much about their auditors, but maybe customer interaction is a factor and that was a bad idea either way?
