Linwood Produce — Local services in Kings Mountain

I work with Cleveland County. I am in process of collecting information to distribute and to add in a group designed to get grants to distribute foods to ALL AREAS of Cleveland County especially those areas who are underserved and or underprivileged . As a part of nutrition group, I am visiting local farmers markets to engage them into the workgroup committees to gain funds to expand in healthy and nutritious foods and places that by data may be deemed as a food desert. I walked into this establishment and currently I am back in my car writing this, but I stood there for about 10mins or more waiting to be greeted and served. The woman locked eyes with me and just stared at me square in the face for about 15 seconds as if I was an arkward foreign object. I felt very uncomfortable at her gaze. I was waving at her with a smile to come towards me. She turned her head away from me and walked the opposite direction as if she had an attitude. I waited about 5more mins until she came out with food for a table party.. she serviced them and continues to ignore me still standing at the door. I'm going to be honest, I don't think I will report back to my comittee to work with this particular place. I wasn't even recognized or acknowledged after I KNOW SHE SAW ME and gave me that God awful stare of disbelief that I was in the establishment. I am in the business of making sure that ALL ARE TREATED WELL, AND Can Recieve the healthy foods and services to better our community, and support our local farmers market by helping Cleveland County citizens to fight against diseases such as obesity diabetes depreyand more. I hope after reading this you remember the young, black girl with red hair waiting by the door here today on Sunday..and that u dig deep to change your welcoming services to be more efficient and adequate to all who comes to your establishment. I can tell that my kind isn't much respected here in my opinion. I'm praying for you all.🙏🏾🌹 peace...

This is as local as local food gets, folks. You can get a cheeseburger or other home-cooked special. You can get a meat and two for $8 or a meat and three for $8.50. Drink included! Fast cooking. Fast service. Cube steak on Wednesdays. Meatloaf on Thursdays. Potluck all other days! Locals eat here. Locals meet here. It’s connected to a little grocery store. My wife and I checked it out after a neighbor who works for the City of Kings Mountain recommended it to us. His assessment of the place was perfect....

Great food but don’t go here if you’re expecting “southern hospitality”. Haven’t personally experienced rudeness but have seen the owner being very rude to customers and he uses socially unexceptionable language on a regular basis.
