I didn’t have any issues when I actually had my membership. Everything was fine until I went to cancel it. I had canceled my membership back in February (or so I thought) because I wasn’t going to use it anymore. I filled out the cancellation form and everything. I then found out at the beginning of September that my membership was actually still active and I had been charged for 6-7 months when I thought it had been canceled. The first time I went in to speak to a manager about it, she wasn’t in so I cake back the next day. She said it showed in the system that I had canceled my membership, but that shortly after, an employee reactivated it for some reason. She couldn’t find my cancellation paper that I signed and asked me to give her the day to search for it then she would call me and we would get things straightened out. She never called. I gave her a week and she never called. I called and couldn’t get ahold of her so I went back in after about another week and of course she was in a meeting so she couldn’t talk with me at that time. The lady at the front desk was very kind and finally canceled my membership for me because they still hadn’t done it. She said she would let the manager know and have her call me. Well guess what, she never called! It is now November and she still has not called or reached out to me at all! I ended up disputing the charges with my bank because all together it was almost $400 that I should not have been charged and they reimbursed me most of the money (not all though). I will never again go to this branch of the YMCA nor will I recommend it to anyone. There is no excuse to treat people like this and not handle...
Read moreDon't put your kids on the basketball team because the coaches like to play favorites. My son Des was mistreated on the team. He made the all-star team because he worked his butt off to help his team all season. He never missed practice or games and yet they did not let him play at the Allstar championship game. These coaches act like they are college or NBA coaches when this is just a YMCA team. This team should give kids an opportunity to work on their skills, but most of them barely get play time. I noticed all season that the same kids were getting play time. While other kids had to be disappointed all season. Sometimes I didnt want to stay to show support because of this. They want us to pay $40-$75 just to not even see our kids play. Whoever is above all these coaches needs to make it a requirement for ALL our kids to get a chance to play every game. Some of these boys didnt get to play alot on the middle school team and should have had their opportunity to get better on this team. Instead, they still getting picked over and don't get a chance to development the skills they are clearly trying to learn. The kids are just being left with the choice to go to a competitor team and hope they get play time. That is not being fair to the kids, but I guess all that matters is the coach getting a trophy. Or is that just an excuse for...
