I had to have an outpatient procedure done at NRMC awhile back & everyone from the admissions & registration office, nursing, my surgeon who is fabulous, to the other recovery room nurses, to the time of dismissal were absolutely outstanding! My only complaint was that they no longer have bendable straws which anyone sick enough these days to be in the hospital usually need. I had to actually sit up on the side of the bed, which I was not ready to do, just to take some medicine with water because of the nonflexible, nonbendable straws! This could have easily been a fall risk had there not happened to be someone in the room when I needed to sit up just to get a drink. They say corporate saved some money by only getting straight straws which tells me (since I used to work there for 28 years) just how cheap the corporate side has become! But all the folks I encountered were fabulous! Just wish corporate would support & pay them what they are worth (no on mentioned this, no one!) instead of farming out departments behind the scenes to other parts of the world where they can get services done more cheaply. That is the side most people don't know about. However since I no longer work there (because my department was farmed out to a national company with people even working from India) I'll leave my feelings about that alone & focus on patient care which was excellent. I want to mention Barb & Sherry whose names I remember who were especially good to me as were all the nurse, & I forgot to mention that Anesthesiology & Dr. Kennedy were very good to me as well! Would I recommend this hospital to others undergoing the same procedures I had? You bet I would because the PEOPLE...
Read moreI was honestly shocked to find out that Northeast Regional Medical Center is hiring someone like Robert to work in hospital security — especially considering that he’s currently squatting in my home and has refused to leave for months. His actions have caused thousands of dollars in property damage, and he now owes me over $1,500 in unpaid rent and utilities. Despite repeated requests, he’s completely trashed the place, refuses to clean up, and has even allowed another person to move in without my permission or approval — someone who isn’t on the lease at all. To make matters worse, there’s now a massive school bus parked right on the lawn, which has led to the city contacting me with fines and code violations for the mess he’s created.
It’s outrageous that someone who’s shown this level of irresponsibility and disregard for others’ property is being trusted with a position of authority and responsibility at a hospital, especially in security — a role that requires honesty, integrity, and sound judgment. I now have no choice but to hire a lawyer and go through the eviction process just to get him out of my house. It’s unbelievable to me that Northeast Regional Medical Center would allow someone with this kind of behavior and ongoing legal and financial issues, including unpaid child support, to be employed in a position that involves protecting others.
By the way, the hospital is amazing 5 out...
Read moreMy brother went here a few weeks ago. After 6 hrs the decided he was only having panic attacks and released him after giving him very heavy sedatives. He was not coherent to make any objections, but his wife and parents pushed to have an ambulance take him to Boone. They refused saying Boone wouldn't accept him with what they diagnosed him with. You all released a man on heavy sedatives to WALK out of your hospital, just 20mins after an episode. Thank the Lord, his whole family was there to prop him up and get him in his parents car, which took him straight to Boone. Guess what, they had him in triage 15mins, he had an episode and they immediately admitted him to cardiology. It wasn't panic attacks, after almost 4 days at Boone, diagnosed STV. He has to have an ablation and a very high chance of a stint also. Yet you all dismissed him! My other brother needs a hernia surgery, the dr said no problem let's get you scheduled, after everything that happened with our other brother, he said 'no thanks, refer me to Columbia' Dr was upset and stormed out, he has yet to get a call from Columbia, has even reached out to them and they don't have a referral. That is beyond unprofessional to allow someone to suffer and not send a referral because, for very good reasons, he doesn't trust the drs/surgeons there. Honestly, only go to this hospital if you want to die and still have a very large bill to leave...
