For us it was more like a 3.5 but we're planning on going back in again when the AC is fixed. It was our 6 month wedding anniversary so it was a special occasion. A friend recommended the Wooden Nickel. We were seated in the second dining room which was very busy and told the AC wasn't working, it was in the 90's that day. We got seated next to a party of 8 with young kids that were getting ready to leave near the hallway leading to the bar and restrooms. We asked for a different table one row up and the waiter said he couldnt because it wasn't his station. We decided to make the best of it. My husband's brisket was dry, only lightly smoked and chewy, he was disappointed as he loves good BBQ. My steak was great, a home run, it was cooked perfect, tender and generous portion. My husband ate a third of it. A second party of 8 got seated next to us, again also with kids. It was OK but I was hoping for a romantic dinner experience and this was not it. With the AC being out and a fan was running and we think it was blowing hair around as there was a hair in my salad and one in my husband's French fries. We paid with a debit card and there was a charge for that tacked on to the bill. When we go back we will probably both order the steak and on a...
Read moreWas my first time eating at the bar. Elizabeth was my bartender/server. I only ordered the mini tacos and wings, no drinks. My total was about $17 and I didn't have much to spend that day and since I was goinf to stay for drinks I left a $2 tip for the food. When I asked her prices on the tequilla she immediately was rude and short with me and very dismissive. Now I always leave a good tip for bartender's when ordering drinks and I asked her price differences on tequilla and she again was short and snippy and tried to make me feel dumb for asking. I also bartend and prices are different at different bars and she was purposely being rude. I got one single shot for $8 and left a $5 tip and left. It honestly really left such a bad impression that I'll never go there again. I instead went to play pool at the old country bar and grill off of hwy 11 and had drinks and played pool and Hillary gave us exceptional service and I was happy to leave her a 30% tip. Im sorry but I dont feel I should have been scolded for leaving a $2tip for a simple food order that eas deep fried and cost $15 bucks and with no drinks. I was planning...
Read moreGreat menu & service! I ordered one of my favorite dishes & one of their Specialities Of The House: Blackened Chicken Tortellini. The Tortellini mostly mushy with some amazingly uncooked filled with rancid cheese in a sauce that resembled Jägermeister! Served well below room temperature! My date fared no better with her Chicken Kreps which she described as cold & salty. Neither of us were brave enough to try the wilted house salad or the frozen grocery store bread sticks. To be fair the baked potatos although small were very good. I spied another favorite of mine Bananas Foster. A few chunks of banana with a TON of rum, a pinch of sugar that was barely warm enough to melt the freezer burnt ice cream. Her 2year old barely ate and we greedily ate his leftover Chicken Sticks & fries which was FAR Superior to anything we were served. I gave our waitress a $20 telling her our food was the worst ever...but she was awesome! She offered a gift certificate we looked at each other and laughed and my Girl said: I wouldn't eat her if you paid me & the meal was free! Safe yourself time, money, and the scours later on...Go...
