LONG REVIEW IN LINK BELOW.
Bit of a wonky start. Apparently ZE CHERMANS don’t understand when I say ok I’ll take it they don’t have to keep selling it but hey man language berriers aside THE END PRODUCT IS SO BEYOND MY WILDEST EXPECTATIONS OUT OF SIGHT ISNT FAR ENOUGH!!! GJ HICKMAN YOU ARE THE MAN THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEOS OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THE CAR ITSELF !! I SHOWED ALL MY FRIENDS IT NEXT TO THE BENTLY AND MR VETS DEFFFF PICKING UP STREET CRED AT THE NEW JOB FOR SURE!! All goofing aside MAKE SURE ONCE YOU DECIDE YOU WANT THE VEHICLE YOU SCREAM THE WORDS I WANT THE VEHICLE because apparently Mercedes of Knoxville is absolutely knocking down customers left and right just to keep up and the product speaks for itself my whole adult life. I’m 40 now. This is likely the last car I ever buy definitely the last sports car. I started this journey with an infinity coupe 20 years ago now. It will end with an Infiniti coupe so I needed to make sure it was the right. Q60 RedSport 400 AWD black / BLACK!! I hate red interiors I’ve been going to the same infiniti dealership in denver for 13 years.. a very adult move for someone my age at the time to buy and stay with my dealership. Unfortunately, that loyalty did not pay off. Because the dealership in the process of selling me a car decided to sell it to somebody else then tried to basically finesse me into a 40k new infiniti like I’m stupid. It was so insulting. They lost my business forever.. I had several dealers do this. I’m buying remote and that scares dealers. So I went ahead and jumped over GJs head to secure the deal no bs. After a bit of WWE royal rumble and some hard eye batting. To my absolute horror. I was now the owner of my dream car which is like realizing… oh shit we’re going to the Super Bowl .. but god is good and so are my decisions so I mustered up all my strengths I have left and sold my beloved pikes peak race car and brought home an absolute FLAWLESS 1 OWNER car with 44k miles on it that is so well taken care of by Mercedes of Knoxville That Sewell infiniti of Houston decided to go ahead and certify the vehicle for 20,000 miles or two years for effectively no charge on top of our service contract and warranty that I purchased. The dealer tech for their used cars came and actually asked where the car came from. I said from Knoxville Mercedes and his response was “damn ok Mercedes I see you” the car has brand new brakes brand new tires. They didn’t need to do that they just did. They replaced a lower radiator hose from what I understand because their techs new they had the potential to fail at 50k miles checked all the belts scoped the turbos they even put those lines in the carpets that match which really makes my OCD happy. And whoever the man was who had this car left a set of golf balls in a box of teas which went with the car and a nice little compartment so I’m just gonna leave those. This is the kind of buying experience that I suspect. Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage would be used to most of my cars have come from infiniti or from Sewell which are definitely quite nice experiences. But I just wasn’t ready for the level of meticulousness that this car actually has now mind you the owner was a golf enthusiast so I’m guessing it was a weekend tee time car. But all the better for me because I plan to have this car from now on.. this is my sixth and final infiniti coupe and it’s by far away the best one. LOOK AT MY RED BREAKS UGH !!! 8 year old me would be absolutely crapping his pants right now. I even have this car as a HOTWHEELS!! if you’re looking to have “THAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE” where people go GIIIRRRRRRLLL when you say where it’s from. Go to Mercedes Knoxville. Look for GJ Hickman tell him to take a vid of the car for you and start it up HE HAS THAAAA POOWWAAAAAA!!! thank you again Mercedes of knocksville. You knocked it out the park!!!!!!!!!!! But next time when I say ok I want it STOP SELLING ME THE CARRR I WANT IT lol. (Tell GJ to take a video in that room with the Bentleys so you can show your friends at work and rub it in...
Read moreI rarely take the time to 'go after a business', but Mercedes of Knoxville has earned this one. This review is a reflection of our experience as two-time Mercedes buyers from them as we looked to purchase a third. My wife loves her Mercedes, sadly, the dealer experience is horrendous. Spend nearly $100K but get told by service "You don't qualify for a loaner vehicle" because the service would only be an hour or two. Funny...I get loaner vehicles for our work cars all the time. Kia, Honda, Nissan, any Harper Dealer...never an issue. My wife's lease (GLE) is up in three months. For the last six months, we've received texts and emails urging us to come in because Mercedes will pay up to her final three payments to get her into a new one. I've been trying to talk her out of another Mercedes due to the business practices and general treatment we've received at the dealer. She wanted another GLE. Ok. We go in and are immediately informed that 'her car doesn't qualify for the three month support for a new vehicle'. So, to make things easier, I offered to let her trade in my Porsche Cayenne that has $15K-ish equity in trade according the mid-range on KBB. The salesman, Darryl was excellent. Not arrogant or dismissive like others we've experienced there. The "Floor Manager" Chris, however came across like a typical used car salesman, with the first words out of his mouth being untrue. No discussion, just "I'm all in and can't do any more". Quite insulting as he literally took the lowest KBB trade value possible, purposely not including the options on the vehicle), then proceeded to not discount $0.01 off the new $89K GLE. Seriously? How dumb do you think your customers are? Apparently, pretty dumb because he didn't care, didn't try, and didn't want our business. I wasn't asking for favors, I was looking for fair and not to be taken advantage of, which is apparently his specialty. Called and left a message of the experience for the General Sales Manager. I thought that as a two-time previous buyer from them, he might want to know how we were treated and might call back...nope. Crickets. That's fine. A friend just went and bought one from Asheville, and another from Chattanooga. They've shared similar experiences and refuse to buy from Knoxville. Can't blame them. Looks like we'll be doing the same. I was going to let it go, but more people should know about how they treat their customers. They're happy to take your money, but could care less about you as a customer or your experience with the dealership. They're the only game in town, but other towns aren't that far away and ultimately will save you thousands, not to mention avoiding dealing with arrogant, dishonest salespeople. I will also note that having bought 11 vehicles from Harper Dealerships, I've never once had to deal with this type of situation. One additional note, in addition to Darryl, the Used Car Manager who was overseeing things the previous evening when we came in was extremely pleasant and professional. He recently came from BMW...that might explain it.
EDIT: Still no communication from Mercedes, but I can thank them for their poor and dishonest behavior guiding us to the lovely new BMW X5 we just purchased from Grayson BMW! (Higher rated in reviews than the GLE from every major auto news...
Read moreAs a cancer researcher, I treat people like professionals. And as a 5 time Mercedes owner, I've always had Mercedes Dealerships treat me, as their customer, in a professional manner. However, Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville sadly changed that. I took my GLS 450 in to Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville for an evaluation of what I perceived could be a transmission problem, slow to engage 2nd gear from a stop, notably on an incline. They did a quick evaluation and told me there were parts (motor mounts, transmission mounts and some seals) in need of repair, so I agreed to have the services done, but questioned the certainty of the repairs in question related to my transmission problem. I was assured the repairs would fix it. Driving the "repaired" car home, it was immediately obvious, the repairs did nothing for the situation for which I brought in the car. A second trip to Mercedes Benz of Knoxville resulted in deeper dive, actually conducting an analytics review of the transmission, and what was revealed was the delay that I perceived was a "hill control" feature that was on my car, unknown to me, and obviously to them on their initial review. So, the end result was motor mounts, transmission mounts and seals that had minor leaks were NOT in fact causing symptoms that seemed to be slow shifting. It was only identified by Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville, after the full transmission analysis on my second visit, that it was hill control causing a delay in shifting from stop. So the parts and services, while deemed necessary, were unrelated. There was no real issue, despite my concerns of old fluid, adaptive transmission or other potential transmission-related possibilities. When I challenged why the full analytics service wasn't conducted first, and I would've been told that is "hill control" instead of being told I needed thousands of dollars in repairs, Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville simply told me the repairs were needed. Ultimately, after much displeasure and frustration with this series of evaluations and services, I requested a refund of the motor mount money, as it had no bearing on the situation I presented the car for, and they did refund me that part, though I paid for the seals and leaks. Upon returning my car Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville informed me they no longer wanted my business. So my review reflects my experience, and I would advise, be aware of Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville, you may get repairs beyond the scope of your problem and if you challenge, they will smugly tell you to go away. This is truly a sad departure from my historic Mercedes Benz service...
