Updated review: Huge shoutout to Dr. Michael Patrick for his exceptional leadership in securing the military grant, along with the first responder grant, for CBE Doctorate programs. As a self-pay student, the grant's approval means the world to me, removing financial hurdles and paving the way for a transformative April 2024 start. Kudos to Dr. Patrick for being a true champion for veterans and a game changer in our educational journey! š #LeadershipExcellence #GratefulHeart
First review - 1 star: As a disabled veteran accepted into the DBA program with a start date of April 2024, I was excited about the opportunity. In November 2023, I inquired about the veteran grant advertised on the college's website. The admissions advisor/counselor assured me that financial aid would discuss all available financial options, including the veteran grant. Trusting this information, I made extensive preparations, including relocating from Arizona to Ohio to reduce expenses and accommodate the costs associated with pursuing this program.
However, last week, I was dismayed to learn from financial aid that the veteran grant is not offered for the DBA program. This news came as a shock, as there is no indication on the school's website that the grant does not apply to this specific program. Furthermore, scheduling appointments with financial aid is only possible within two months of the starting date, leaving little time for adequate financial planning.
The lack of transparency in this matter is disheartening and has significantly impacted my ability to afford and attend the program. As a self-pay student, the impact of not having this grant on my ability to attend the program is beyond disappointing.
The absence of this crucial financial support has thrown my budget into disarray, making it no longer feasible for me to pursue my doctorate as planned. This news has not only disrupted my educational aspirations but also forced me to reconsider my entire academic and financial strategy.
While South College proudly promotes itself as military/veteran-friendly, the denial of a grant that is advertised on their website contradicts this claim. It's crucial for the school to live up to its commitment to veterans by being honest and transparent about financial assistance options.
I urge South College to update its website to clearly specify which programs are eligible for the veteran grant. Additionally, I encourage the school to inform prospective students about the grant's eligibility during the admissions process, avoiding unnecessary stress and disappointment.
In conclusion, the impact of not having this grant is devastating, and I hope that my experience prompts positive changes in the way South College communicates with its students, especially veterans. Being upfront and honest is crucial in fostering a supportive and trustworthy educational...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLike most people have already said in their reviews, I didnāt hear a single bad word about this college before and during my time there. However, as soon as I was approaching my graduation date, things started to shift dramatically. My advisor had informed me that I still needed classes to finish my degree, when in fact, I had taken an entire quarter of classes I DID NOT NEED TO GRADUATE. Also, if you are planning on using the South College private student loan to attend, just donāt. After months of paying my student loans while in school and EVERY month since then, I just woke up last week to my total tuition amount sold to a collection agency (I use CreditKarma and it went to collections, not my student loans). My credit dropped 20 points due to the college selling my student loan debt to a third party. I was baffled and irritated, hoping this was just a mix up, considering Iāve never missed a payment. So I immediately called South College to try and figure out what happened and try to remediate the issue, as this is a HUGE issue on my credit (considering my husband and I are currently house hunting). I have called every single day and left voicemails with absolutely no luck. Then this morning, South College continued to take out my student loan payment, even though they already sold it off. So Iām left here confused and baffled as to why 1. south college sold my debt to a collections agency and 2. Why south college is continuing to take out my student loan payment AFTER they just sold it to a third party and 3. Why do they refuse to call me back to speak upon this matter.
So if you care about your credit, finances, and basic human decency when it comes to open communication like they preach upon admission, do not attend South College. I was completely fooled, and you probably will be too based on othersā...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThereās absolutely zero information on the school outside of what programs they have online then when you message them to request more information, they donāt send you more information. They wanna act like sales people instead of treat it like an education. I didnāt come to you for you to try to sell me shit. I came to you for a damn education. Either youāre going to educate me on your programs or Iām gonna keep trashing your school to everyone so no one will show the hell up. How the hell do you expect anybody to wanna go to your school if they know nothing about it and you wonāt tell them? You just want somebody to message them to look like theyāre doing their job. Tell them to wake up and do their jobs and send some information on your school or put it on your website so we can actually see what the hell is going on. Every other school that Iāve looked at has all the information on the courses the prices of the courses or at least somebody who will actually educate you on these question. Itās seriously not hard to put some information out there. Please do your research update youāre homepage and fire your lazy workers. Thank you. Sincerely anyone trying to learn...
