How can I say this?
If you have a taste for Asian food eat here.
The overview: When you step inside the door you are greeted with a warm smile and happy welcome before quickly being seated.
The restaurant is always clean and feels open. I have eaten here many times with my partner and every experience feels like we're visiting family. (I know I have a few reviews that say thos but it's true. The owner is a wonderful lady and I would love to have her as a mother or grandmother figure in my life.)
Service is quick, polite, amd efficient.
I cannot fathom how we get our food so fast! The food is always hot, sometimes still sizzling, when we get it. I have tried many dishes from the menu and not once have I been left wanting. It has always been delicious, and you can tell the food is handled with care for both freshness and quality.
We have never felt pushed to pay our bill. Not once.
I have always left Osaka's with a full stomach and a satisfied smile.
I swear the owner is such a charming lady with enough energy to make me envious.
On top of quality of food, service and cleanliness, the prices are more than reasonable.
Osaka's gets an A+
The price is most definitely Worth the plate.
(Seriously. Try this place out. It's a great experience where you can eat great...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place! The Korean food is outstanding easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Every Korean dish I’ve tried has been full of flavor and totally satisfying. If you’re specifically craving authentic Korean cuisine, this spot is a hidden gem.
Just a heads-up: if you’re in the mood for more general Asian dishes like hibachi or sushi, this probably isn’t the place for that. But for Korean food? It’s 10/10 and always hits the spot.
Some of my go-to favorites are the jajangmyeon (noodles in a rich black bean sauce , don’t be scared, it looks super dark because of the beans, but it doesn't taste like beans, I promise!), tteokbokki (chewy rice cakes in a sweet and spicy sauce), and the bulgogi (marinated beef that’s tender, savory, and slightly sweet). All three are flavorful, comforting, and delicious you really can’t go wrong with any of them.
The ambiance isn’t the best, but honestly, the food speaks for itself. And if that bothers you, you can always grab it to go. The older lady who works there is always so kind and clearly works incredibly hard she really makes the whole experience feel warm and welcoming.
I seriously wish there were more places like this. Highly recommend for anyone who loves real Korean food at...
Read moreThis is sort of two restaurants in one: First is the totally typical hibachi place that I passed up -- literally drove right by -- for years. Not ethnic food, so I wasn't interested. But the secret was eventually revealed by one of my clients, an ethnic food lover like me, who had spent several years working in Korea. This restaurant is apparently owned by a Korean family, and if you turn the menu over, there it is: authentic Korean food in Knoxville! Delicious, cheap, fast and friendly service, nice lighting, super-casual but clean. Often you will see groups of young Korean people eating here. Just go ahead and ask the server for suggestions. My favorite is Bibimbop, featuring such a variety of fresh vegetables and flavors. Oh and when you order Korean food here, they bring you this awesome and random assortment of simple appetizers. I can't speak to the front side of the menu, though I would expect all the food to at least be fresh and decent. You can safely bring your less-adventurous date along knowing that all the familiar dishes are there. But if you're an ethnic food lover, don't keep passing...
