John Andy's Deli & Cafe — Local services in Kouts

Tonight was an opportunity to check another locally owned restaurant off of our list, our first visit.

"John Andy's Deli & Cafe" were featuring a Fish Fry Friday special so we opted to check them out.

Offerings of whitefish, Pollock, ocean perch, or shrimp baskets including fries and coleslaw. We both choose the Pollock and added a side of hush puppies - which was an amazing portion size for just $4!

The fish was lightly battered and very good! Hush puppies were top notch with yellow corn meal, great flavor! Fries were hot and crispy, the perfect transport vessel for copious amounts of ketchup 😋! The slaw was good, if perhaps a bit too sweet for my tastes. Tartar sauce was also very good.

My husband and I drove down from Valpo because it was Fish Fry Friday. A shout out to Desserts by Juliette for posting their flyer! We each ordered a perch basket and added a basket of huspuppies. The fish, fries and huspuppies were cooked well. We both loved the coleslaw slaw and I especially like the tarter sauce. This place is for sure going on our list to visit...
