Woah. Just woah. Itās been a few years since Iāve been in here, but Iām so, SO disappointed. Walked in with my wife and werenāt acknowledged. Walked over to a counter with all the video games because we needed new controllers for our kids. Stayed over in that section for a few minutes. Nobody offered to help. Nobody asked if we needed or were looking for anything. The three gentlemen just continued on their conversation. Walked up to the front and looked around- literally less than 10 feet away. Still no acknowledgement. No asking if we needed anything, if we were finding everything okay, telling us if there were any specials, even a glance in our direction. They were too busy raving about Donald Trump winning the election, how happy they were about it, and belching out loud. Literally reminded me of some poor movie portrayal of trailer park hangouts. As a gay, Hispanic woman, I was seriously disappointed in the lack of professionalism displayed by these three gentlemen. I was ready to leave within minutes of being there- their conversation made me so uncomfortable. My wife reminded me that political talk- while not very classy, didnāt mean anything⦠our money was just as green as everyone elseās. After the steady lack of acknowledgement from the three working, my wife was finally fed up too. We didnāt end up spending anything and walked out. I went back in to try and find out when the owner would be in so I could maybe come back then for my purchase. Heās always been kind and helpful and super knowledgeable. Wouldnāt ya know - I walked back in without my wife and was instantly greeted by the youngest of the three with a smile and a āwelcome, how can we help you todayā or something along those lines. I asked about the owner and was disappointed to find that heās usually at the Valpo location. He only comes (usually) when thereās a need for him. The same young gentleman offered to help with whatever I was needing the owner for, but the damage was already done in my book. I didnāt want to work with them. He even called me āhunā on my way out. Ugh. Poor taste in political conversation in a professional establishment aside- the serious lack of customer service was a huge turn off. Big difference from my last visit and I most likely wonāt be back. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up because this place has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor starters I drove 2 1/2 hours to Laporte so that I could get some belongings of mine that were pawned A couple months back. I do not get off work until 430 like most people. I had to speed the entire way there and made it only five minutes after 6 oāclock. I was able to knock on the door only to be greeted through another door by one of the employees. I explain to him that I just drove very far to come give them their money for my belongings that they were so gracious enough to accept when I need the money. Only to be told thatās too bad we are not open. While at the mercy of the store I begged and said please sir all I need is my belongings I have your cash for them. I explained that I did not need to pawn anything or go shopping around I just wanted to give money to get my things, that I drove very far, and it was the only time that I would be able to make it there this week. I was only five minutes after the closing time and they told me no and I had to turn around and leave for a total of a 4 Hour Dr. I will be going in if not tomorrow , if I can get off work the next week to get my belongings. Iām sad to say I will never go to that pawn shop again . Iāve worked in a retail store many times and Iāve been put in that position many times and Iāve always said we close at a certain time I cannot help that, but when a client (not a first time client) goes out of their way to get there, only to give the store money ( because business I will never turn down) that belongs to them but they obviously do not care or want mine, then Iām disappointed in it. Not the way a business should conduct themselves because they are really nice pawnshop, but if ever a store turns down my money regardless of the time, then they donāt want my buisness anymore. Shame on them. If Iām able to get of work without being fired for it Iāll be there to get my belongings and sever the ties in which they were comfortable enough to hand me their own knife. A saddened...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRead through reviews so expected to have good customer service. Was there specifically for a ring. I have big fingers. I asked to see rings on bigger size. Since they size them there they wanted me to pick any ring. No! Looking at rings thru glass to try and see if they are big enough to somewhat fit is impossible. I wanted a ring that was going to be somewhat close in size to leave with. Which is why I asked which ones were there bigger sizes. Girl wouldn't even take any out to try and find me 1, all she did was ask guy if they are sectioned by sizes. I could tell they were not. Don't want a size 7 stretched to a 10-11 so then it's so thin. But a 8.5 -9 stretch ok better. Then she moved on to next customer so I'd say they didn't want my money. We stop and shop at many pawn shops and this was the worst place . Just because you size rings doesn't mean you don't know what you have in your store for a bigger ring sizes. It would have taken couple seconds to pull a tray out and look. If not me look, you the...
