Cashiers need customer service training...
I took advantage of the store can/bottle recycling for the first time yesterday and today. Mind you I am an employee of a neighboring store in Palisades and we very often purchase from the store.
The young woman, I believe in management, who helped with the count and provided the voucher, was gracious, friendly, and helpful. Not so the cashiers!
Yesterday an older Asian woman repeatedly challenged the information on the voucher and left me wondering why. Today I waited in a long line and Shay made it VERY clear she was annoyed that she had to deal with me and the transaction. She was rude to the point of verbally snapping at me. I was dressed business casual and had my name tag on for easy ID. What could she have thought was so bad with what I was doing?
Employees can have all the opinions of their customers they want but they need to stifle them in the interest of best practices. If I treated one if my customers like that I'd be written up for sure if...

Fresh but very costly produce and baked goods. Pretty limited frozen items selection. Nice wine selection! Great for some grab and go lunch if price is not a concern. They have a hot soup bar, hot and fresh pizza slices, a hot deli counter, a barista, and a bakery. There is a dining area indoors and out. The covered dining area outdoors has heaters mounted above the area but I've never seen them turned on. There is a Mudbay store in the same lot and also a pizza/pub with outdoor seating. Overall a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. We have gotten Thanksgiving dinner catered by this store for a few years and everything has...
Read moreThis is easily the nicest grocery store in LO. The store itself is a pleasure to shop in, with its nice lighting and good vibes. Every employee I've encountered has been lovely, showing patience and a super friendly attitude, especially towards my four-year-old. My only minor quibble is the somewhat odd practice of using customer shopping carts to empty the outside trash cans, and haul the bags to the dumpster. This strikes me as a little unhygienic. I'd rather not put my produce in a cart that just had a bunch of garbage in it!...
