Edit since I cannot "reply" to the business' response. I already made you all aware of it and we were e-mailing with the General Manager of your location two days ago. My tickets were already refunded so I am all set. However I am not changing my review it is still one star. Since you are encouraging me to elaborate I will be happy to do so! Theater is dirty. Bathrooms are disgusting. Employees are unhelpful to say the least- I will say the girl working at the front desk Saturday night was very kind and was the only employee I spoke with that day who was able to look me in the eye, speak in clear, concise sentences, expressed any empathy and addressed my concerns as well as she was able.. The main concern was that the a/c in theater #20 was turned off for the entire two and a half hours we were in there. Literally my husband and I were dripping with sweat and our candy was MELTING. I came out about 30 mins into the feature to let you all know, i spoke to several employees at that time and was assured they would let the manager know. The way these kids behaved was unreal. Most of them wouldn't even look at me, and one who looked at me kind of sideways told me "it's really hot outside." Yeah dude it sure is, it got to 89 degrees on Saturday. Also I should mention that this movie theater charges REGULAR PRICES for their tickets. $12 apiece. If this was a "discount" movie theater I wouldn't have made it a big deal because you get what you pay for. When you're paying full price for a movie ticket I expect to at least have functioning temperature control when it's 89 degrees outside. It doesn't have to be ice cold, no. Uncomfortable is okay. Chocolate begins to soften at 80ā85°F and melts at 86ā93°F. I am not kidding when i tell you my chocolate bar was liquid. When e-mailing that night with the general manager i was informed that "The AC was turned on upstairs immediately after I was informed that it was too hot in that theater. The AC takes a while to fully start working because the units are old and they have to cool the entire auditorium. Prior to being told by the staff member, we were not aware of the issue with the AC. We would never deliberately open shows in a theater that we know has issues in it. Since your show has let out, we have been checking the auditorium every 15 minutes and slowly but surely the HVAC is cooling the auditorium to a more comfortable temperature. If it wasn't, we'd close all shows until it was. Our maintenance team will still be coming out to take a look at the unit, as it does seem that it's taking longer than usual to get properly running." This is all fine and good and I did get my tickets price refunded. I still feel the whole situation was handled very poorly and most of your "employees" are not doing their job at all. Once you were made aware that the a/c was not even turned on in that theater, you should have either moved us all into another theater, or at the VERY least been handing out comp passes at the exit. I was shocked that neither took place even though you were AWARE THAT THERE WAS NO A/C IN THERE. I understand that you were not aware PRIOR TO THE MOVIE STARTING. But once you became aware of it you could have at least acknowledged it with your patrons. We could have been given the option to move to another theater at least. It was theater #20 which is a regular-sized smaller screen, and it was maybe 25-33% filled. It's a brand new Marvel movie that was playing on multiple screens. Therefore it will remain one star and will not be changing. Nor will I be returning, obviously. The comp passes you gave me are a joke, by the way. Not valid for any movie less than 2 weeks old. What a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been coming to the Lakeville Emagine since before Emagine ācame to town.ā I love it, the staff are great, pleasant and professional. I havenāt ever had a complaint until now. My body is slowly deteriorating. Iāve been using a cane for 5 years and a rolling walker for 3. Itās been determined that within the next 6 months Iāll be in a wheelchair. I normally go to the movies by myself, never at night because Iām not ecstatic about crowds. Even though I show up for matinees, I typically buy 3 tickets, just in case, so that no one is able to sit next to me; I buy a buffer. Iāve thought the Lakeville Emagine was great, they have several handicapped parking spaces up front, lowered curbs for wheelchairs or those that have problems with curbs, in addition to disabled parking spots in the ārows.ā I thought this site was much better than say Eagan, who I believe only has disabled parking in āthe rows,ā and youāre required to walk across traffic to get to the front door. This changed this last week. While I am still able to walk with my cane and open the door by myself, as I considered my future, I looked for the door(s) that have an electric eye, or a button to open the doors. THERE ARENāT ANY. I thought to myself āHow am I going to get in once Iām wheelchair bound? Do they really expect every person in a wheelchair to be accompanied by someone who can hold the door open? I inquired with the manager on duty (I assumed), and was told the Eagan location has a button in the pillars.. I just looked into the upcoming Superman (2025) matinee times, in 3D (my favorite way of viewing), and noticed a price discrepancy. The seats at Eagan cost $4 more per ticket than the Lakeville location. The matinee at Eagan is around noon, the earliest matinee at Lakeville is 2pm. Why does the Eagan location gouge their patrons for more money? Is it because the seats in Eagan have a heat function (that shouldnāt be needed in Summer)? Is it because they have a button for the disabled to get in? Or is it because whoever owns the parking lot at Lakeville refuses to re-pave the lot and Emagine charges less here because people donāt like going to a theater that has a dilapidated parking lot (the owner of the parking lot isnāt the owner of the theater, or at least it wasnāt prior to Emagineās arrival). Please donāt make me switch theaters. I may have to stop going to Emagine, and I like Emagine Lakeville; itās easier to get to, Iām not required to drive on the highway...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went with four friends to see Insidious: The Red Door. The lobby and halls were completely covered in popcorn and trash, and the bathroom floors were covered in urine (puddles and footprints all the way to the door).
The movieās image was zoomed in and blurry for some reason. It movie started out constantly stuttering and buffering. After 30 minutes or so, the staff finally restarted the movie. This fixed the buffering, but not the small and blurry image, nor the echoing audio, and the lights flickered for the entire movie. Just before the climax of the movie, the screen went black, and the ads/trailers started playing for the next movie. I told some employees that the movie stopped, but management did nothing about it, and let everyone sit in there until the next crowd started coming in for their movie.
We spent more than 2 and a half hours sitting in a theater for a movie that should have lasted an hour and 40 minutes, and we didnāt even get to see the last 30 minutes of the movie. When we tried to get a refund, they told us that our money would be refunded in 3 to 5 business days. They gave us a coupon for a small popcorn, as well as coupons for āfree ticketsā to any movie thatās been in theaters for at least 2 weeks. They also told us that theater 2 (the one we watched the movie in) always has issues, and that we should call prior to buying any tickets in the future to make sure that we donāt buy tickets to theater 2. There were many unused screens that night, yet they still play movies on that busted projector all day. The employees and management obviously didnāt care at all about the inconvenience and they did the bare minimum to make it right. I will not be returning to this run-down, washed-up theater. They gave me a few movie passes as compensation (a month later), but 80% of the movies on the theater website specify āno passesā, so the only movies which the passes will work on are weeks old and look terrible, and Oppenheimer, which came out like four months ago! Pretty crummy/worthless compensation.
