I had a highly disappointing experience working with Boats and Coves under owner Andrew Coccia. As a 1099 independent contractor, I was subjected to extreme micromanagement, erratic and unprofessional communication, and a complete lack of a consistent pay schedule. My pay was frequently shorted with no valid explanation, often after being asked to perform additional cleaning or maintenance work that was deemed “not good enough” after the fact—essentially resulting in unpaid labor.

Andrew regularly sent excessive last-minute messages with a barrage of instructions, sometimes 20+ texts just minutes before charters began. More concerning, he was frequently intoxicated while on the job and has operated boats with guests onboard while drinking or visibly drunk, creating serious safety concerns. I was also repeatedly pressured to come in on unscheduled days for additional tasks beyond my contracted responsibilities.

Boats and Coves was amazing. The booking was online and easy plus they were offering 20% discount. Best deal I found in the area. Wanted to take the kids on a final adventure before school and we were not disappointed. Captain Josh and Bree were amazing. The boat looked new. It was clean, had the right amount of shade/sun. The slide, lily pad, and speaker were all bonuses!!! Plus they had a huge cooler, chairs, and noodles! Captain Bree even helped us capture the moment and memories by taking wonderful pics of us enjoying our lake time. If you’re on the fence about Boats & Coves, absolutely DO IT and ask for Bree as your captain- you will not regret it for a moment! This was a 10/10 experience for our entire group and there’s no way we could have asked for more. Bree was hilarious, attentive, and ensured that everyone had the best time imaginable. The boat was fantastic and the environment/vibe was spot on.

Moral of the story- if you go and do NOT have a good time it’s because of the people you brought and has nothing to do with the captain/boat/environment they provide. Simply consider getting new friends if that’s the case and then...
