Honest review of my experience, did a deal with this buisness trading slabs and pokemon cards for store credit/sealed pokemon items. Took home some sealed pokemon items that day and was given an iou written on a buisness card and was told he had a shipment of etbs on the way to complete our transactions. 4 months later, and two pokemon set releases, I havent recieved a message or call regarding the etbs. Makes me nervous to do anymore future deals or reccomend anyone else in the pokemon community until thats completed. Would be more than happy to update my review when the deal is completed. (Update: def of extortion: the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats. None of my honest review had any purpose or means of that. My statement about the updating my review is that every buisness deserves the opportunity to make a review 5 stars. Which btw is due to your request on facebook asking for people for honest reviews. Your response is correct, but so is my review and statement about not recieving my etbs yet. I have faith that a store that manages to get a new storefront and offer promotion 5k-20k collection buyouts will manage a 400 dollar value etb orderš) (No lies were wrote, nothing has changed, im cautious about doing further deals, but wanted to give your buisness an opportunity to do so if you were able to follow thru with a simple order. Im sorry that makes you feel as if someone is being dishonest. I stand by both of my statements. Im sorry that you feel that someone writing a review you requested on google makes you feel bullied. I simply wrote the facts that we started a deal 4 months later it hasent closed yet, willing to wait for the etbs when you said you had a shipment on the way and wouldent take over a month is not the same as waiting 4 months and nothing. From a buisness standpoint you saying things like lieing, bullying, and extortion and acting out in this manner really shows the point of professionalism that people can come to expect with your buisness.)(update.... did not think it would take over one year to collect and hold 10 paldean fates etbs to finish our deal, but here we are with zero etbs. Hopefully 2025 is a better year for paying off debtsš or maybe even a reach out message saying we are trying to. ) As of 09/28/25 market price of the paldean fates etbs is over $290ea, $2900 in etbs still not paid out as there is still a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the first time Iāve reviewed a store Iāve never actually been inside, not for lack of trying, though. Iāve attempted to visit this store twice during their posted business hours.
The first time, I pulled on a locked door right next to a neon sign that said āOpen.ā A small printed sign explained the door was locked because of a pet. I called the number listed and was told they were doing inventory and it would take 10ā20 minutes. Keep in mind, both the store hours and the signage indicated they were open.
The second time, a man nearly shut the door in my face while pointing at the same sign about the pet. I left.
Itās a shame because I prefer to support local businesses over ordering from Amazon. But after these experiences, it looks like Iāll be ordering from Amazon after all.
Follow up edit:
I originally gave this store a 3 out of 5, but being called a liar in such a condescending tone is unacceptable. In hindsight, 1 is more appropriate. As I clearly stated, Google showed the store as open on both occasions. The first time, the neon sign in the window was also lit, indicating the store was open.
For the record, I was never texted or called by the store. I initiated the first and only call myself, was told they were doing inventory, and that was the end of the conversation. I understand that Facebook may have had different information, but I donāt use nor do I have Facebook.
Also, is a customer now expected to cross-reference Google, Facebook, the storeās notes, call ahead, and decipher a neon sign, just to patron this store? Regrettably, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWalking into this place feels like a mini museum. The owner, Robert, has a pretty touching story about why he opened the business. Every time I've gone in, he's been cordial and friendly. I looked at the other reviews before writing mine and couldn't disagree more with what everyone is saying. I've never had a hard time getting him to open the door. It was a little awkward at first having someone buzz you in, but, as stated, considering he has cats and has been broken into and robbed a few times, can you say you wouldn't act similarly? He and I have traded a few times, and I've purchased a few different games from him, as well as a couple of collectibles. If I was ever questioning whether or not I was getting a fair deal, he showed me what they were going for on websites and was even willing to negotiate in my favor if prices changed. I'll give a perfect example: I went in today to get a game that had a sticker on it for $25, but he price-checks most things to ensure it's the current price. It turns out it was going for $15, and he offered it to me for that. That was just today after I brought in some things to trade. I will most definitely return to this store. You can tell he cared a lot about his sister and tries to treat people the way they treat him, which I can respect. I will recommend his store to others and hope this post helps quash some of the other slanderous posts. Definitely has stuff worth...
