Palm Valley Golf Course — Local services in Las Vegas

Few golf courses could you play every day and not get tired of. This is one of them. The course is plenty difficult to be an annual stop on the Champions and LPGA tour, with tour level green complexes and Par 3s as challenging or more so than the top 3 courses in town. Play this course from the tips on a breezy day and you will see what I mean. The well kept bent greens can run as fast as 13, and are never under 10. The superintendent is one of the few in the valley with the capability of keeping Poianna from invading the greens, which are receptive and true, but lightening fast even as bent greens go. I've lived in Vegas 10 years and played nearly every course here multiple times... this is an enduring well kept masterpiece that has everything going for it including a sports bar complete with great food and gaming in the clubhouse. I really do like this place, it’s really beautiful, and I like the fact that (I think) you can do 9 holes instead of 18. However I went there for the first time the other day to play and maybe get a membership and the course was down. In fact all three sister courses are shut down all the way until October. Who shuts down all of their courses simultaneously??? Right when the weather is cooling off?? Well at least I got to try out the Angel Park golf course. Better than I thought it would be. Really busy. Tons of people there. They had one of their courses shut down as well for reseeding, but they are doing only one...

Won’t play this course again. I’m sure it’s better once they decide grass needs water to not be concrete. Sand traps might as well be ground under repair as it had maybe an 1/8 inch of the “sand” then hard pan like concrete. They know their course was in really bad shape yet had the gall to charge peak prices. You trust a course to offer you a fair deal, especially when you have never seen the course. Did not do that this time.
