Based on the reviews here I feel that either they were having an off-day or I was. The service was very friendly, but seemed to have difficulty getting the orders right. I ordered the Caesar’s salad. It was not very flavorful. I’ve had a lot of Caesar’s salads and I feel this was not up to par. Their Chianti wine-by-the-glass was great. My entree was (the most expensive item on the menu $32) Lobster Ravioli. The description said “Lobster ravioli, with lobster chunks in Brandi [sic] lobster sauce.” However, instead of lobster “chunks” there was SHRIMP! The lobster inside the ravioli was fishy (not fresh tasting) and was grounded to a pulp (I was hoping for chunky). I liked the sauce and the ravioli pasta texture, but swapping shrimp for lobster was unacceptable. The 2 people I was with, who ordered the same salad and entree, agreed with me. We visited Saturday evening at 7:30 after making reservations. There were a few empty tables so reservations were unnecessary, since people are still learning about this place. The place is small, seating no more that 50 diners, I would guess.
We had calamari, dinner salads, lobster ravioli, and chicken parmesan. All were outstanding! The Calamari was as good as any I have ever had in my long-legged life, just outstanding. You could actually taste the lobster in my wife's lobster ravioli, and my chicken parm was juicy and delicious.
Prices were reasonable for an upscale bistro. I.e. side salads were $10, house wine $11. Most entrees were $25 - $30. The wine was just OK and was the only mediocre part of the meal.
We were regulars at My Mother's House, the Italian restaurant that had occupied this location for several years, and Brunello is even better.
