Chops Comics — Local services in Lawrence

I called them on the phone asking if they had Star Wars comics, and the guy who answered was very rude. It started off with me asking if this is Chops Comics and he was like "This is; that is what I just said." I then asked to see if they had Star Wars comics and I asked if they had Legends comics and Canon comics and he was just like "your going to have to come into the store and see." He didn't even seem to care about my questions and never really answered them besides saying yes they have Star Wars comics. So, so far I have a very nasty impression of there comic book store. I would rather go to Gamenut because when I called them up they answered my questions and were kind the whole time on the phone. They were also kind in person. I have never been to Chops Comics and I don't know if I want to now because of how I was treated...

This is one of my favorite comic book stores to visit because the staff is friendly, they have a very good selection of current stock and back issues, and even are fair with pricing. I love to look at the glamorous wall comic books because the owner always has new stuff coming in that could make every collector jealous. The normal hours are very adequate for a small business but during these trying times that has somewhat changed. I am not going to take off any points from the google rating. But, I would recommend calling and to see if they are open before driving to the store. Currently, I believe they are open to sell new comics on Tuesday or Wednesday, and then, the store is open on Friday and Saturday. Maybe. More Comic Stores are always good. More good Comic stores are even better. They seem to either be constantly buying or at the very least constantly rotating their blackstock. I definitely see something that I have never seen there before each time I go in. They have a very full selection of new and shelf issues and their recent back issues (excepting key or event or otherwise noteworthy issues which is COMPLETELY FAIR) can often be found for below book, or below cover. They have a sizable back stock which continues to grow. The only thing I would like to see changed is their location, and I hope.that if it ever became an issue they would be able to relocate.
