So I got hungry about 6pm, you know.. prime dinner time, and had the largest craving for a sandwich. I'm practically broke, and I had already sacrificed the rest of my bread at home to the grackles that live outside my window in hopes of appeasing their annoying voices, so I got onto Google and looked up some sandwich shops in the area. First location to pop up was the charming Mr. Goodcents. So I gave them a ring, the time still around 6pm, and I was expecting to wait a little as usually businesses get busy around dinner time. The phone barely rang twice before a helpful voice by the name of Cole helped me take my order. He let me in on all the deals they were offering, including cookies that are only 50cents on Fridays. After that super polite phone call, I only had to wait a mere 15 minutes before I heard the doorbell. And right there was the gentleman, Cole, who had helped take my order. He brought my sandwich, the Ultimate Club, along with the handful cookies I wanted right up to my door. He was super patient too and let me carry my food into my kitchen before returning to the door with my wallet to pay him. He thanked me graciously and left. Top-notch service and delivery. And as for the taste, my stomach died and went to heaven, carried off on a whole wheat bun with extra bacon and tomatoes. The sandwich was perfect, in other words. And those chocolate chip cookies? Eat your heart out grandma. It was the best night ever, thanks to Cole and...
Read moreDon't go to this restaurant if you're planning to use a coupon. We received a $5 coupon card for this establishment, which included two 99-cent kids' meal coupons. So, my wife and I decided to take our three kids to Goodcents to take advantage of this great coupon (who wouldn't in this economy?) We also had to purchase two adult meals with these coupons, worth about $20.
The way we were looked at and treated for using the said coupon by their staff, mainly the lady manager at the register, was pretty sad and infuriating. They treated us as if we were third-class citizens using food stamps or something. When I didn't receive a cup for my 2-year-old's kids' meal, I politely asked if we could still have that. The lady running the register made a very rude and snide comment, essentially saying, "Were you not smart enough to ask for it at checkout." It was very unprofessional and unnecessary. We felt singled out in a long line of customers who seemed to be treated with respect and received supreme customer service directly after treating us the way they did.
It's pretty sad that we will not be dining at this establishment anymore, as our kids absolutely love GoodCents and were confused last night as we left in not the greatest mood. In today's economy, where it's hard enough to make ends meet, the last thing we needed was to be treated like beggars when simply trying to use a coupon. I hope this helps save someone from similar...
Read moreThis was an awful experience today! I tried to order lunch at work but could not place the order online because I did not have my card today.. So I called the store and had a very difficult time placing my order because there was a language barrier with the gentleman on the phone. He could not understand so he put someone on the phone to help me and she still took forever. She gave a total that was different from what was given online. She said she would correct it and I’d pay the online price. The delivery time quoted was 15 minutes. It took over 45 minutes to get the order and when I called the store he told me they were shorthanded and very busy but were on the way. They never told me this when time given. Time to pay and still never corrected the price(but hey, I’m ready to eat so forget it). The sandwiches were pathetic! Barely any meat or veggies at all. I called the store and he wouldn’t do anything about it but complain that they were busy and short handed and just said it will be better next time. There won’t be a next time for me bud!! (Also, the lady I spoke with about the horrible experience today simply told me that ITS JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS!) I asked for a manager again and he insisted there was not one there. I asked for corporate number and he would not provide one. Overall,...
