I’m very frustrated with my experience at this testing site. I scheduled my exam at this location, and both my husband and I took time off work to drive there (I’m pregnant and unable to drive long distances on my own) only to arrive and find that the exam had been unscheduled without any prior notice.
It wasn’t until I arrived at the facility that I learned that the exam had been canceled without any communication beforehand, and I ended up having to drive to a DFW location to take the test instead (more than doubling my commute to test). While I had heard of similar issues happening to others, I gave the facility the benefit of the doubt.
Beyond the logistical nightmare, the behavior of the test proctor made matters even worse. She was passive-aggressive and unprofessional. There were several unprovoked and inappropriate comments made, and I felt belittled and disrespected. When I was asked if I was at the right location, I tried to explain that I entered the exact address into my GPS from the screenshot I took when I scheduled it with Pearson and was met with the comment “Sure you did, that’s what they all say,” which was completely uncalled for. The screenshot did show that particular address/testing date/testing time but I had not known at that point that my test had been canceled. Additionally, when I was having difficulties logging into my account to show her the page I had originally screenshot, she tried to imply I didn’t actually schedule with Pearson because the initial login was a different website and that was why the test “wasn’t scheduled” (even though my screenshot was from the Pearson website) and she did not listen when I tried to explain that Texas educators have to pay/register for exams separately from scheduling them. Throughout the process, the proctor made passive-aggressive comments that only escalated the situation. I was already upset about the exam cancellation and being spoken to in such a dismissive manner only added to my frustration. The other staff members in the building were friendly and professional, but it was clear that the proctor must have had a problem with me.
As a whole, I am deeply disappointed with my experience with both Pearson and the Comanche Nation Education Center and I do not recommend this testing site to anyone trying to get certified if you can avoid it. I’ve heard many bad stories from others and still gave it a chance out of convenience. Test here at...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Comanche Nation Education Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. This was the third time I scheduled an exam through Pearson to test at this location, only for the exam to be unscheduled without proper notice.
The first incident occurred when I tried to take the PPR exam. I arrived at the center only to find out it had been canceled without any prior communication. For the second incident, I rescheduled the same exam, only to receive an email very late the night before canceling it again. This forced me to drive much further to DFW and book a hotel just to complete my exam.
Most recently, I attempted to take the STR exam. This time, I was informed three days before that it was unscheduled. Once again, I had to rearrange my schedule, take additional time off work, and drive to DFW to take the exam.
Each of these instances caused unnecessary stress, financial burden, and disruption to my work, school, and personal schedule. As someone preparing for teacher certification, the added difficulty and unreliability from both Pearson and the Comanche Nation Education Center have been deeply frustrating and disheartening.
I strongly advise Pearson and the testing center to improve their scheduling and communication processes to avoid such significant inconveniences for future...
