El Rodeo Meat Market — Local services in Lawton

We bought $100 worth of steaks, 2 New York strip and 4 t-bones. The NY strip steaks were nice and trimmed BUT the t-bones we're every bit of 1/3 pure fat, making them look bigger than they actually were, that should have been trimmed. I don't mind paying for better quality meats but I don't want to pay $20 - $30 for fat. Oh, and no, they didn't let us choose our steaks, just told them what we wanted and they brought it up wrapped up. One other thing, no one at the counter appeared to speak English and when my wife, who speaks Spanish, repeated her question in Spanish, they just acted stupid and refused to acknowledge her questions. We were also told they custom cut steaks yet again, when asked, they just got blank stares. Not everyone wants 1 1/2" cut steaks. Come on people, you've been in Lawton long enough to do better than this. All in all, good quality meats BUT be sure to look at what you're getting. Our critters did eat...

Great variety! The meat counter has a great selection of cut meats (seasoned too!), and the butchers will cut the meat to thickness if asked. The Deli section is filled with the aroma of great tasting latin foods on the go, all prepared and cooked by there staff. In a sense it is home cooking to go! So if your tired of fast foods, you owe it to yourself and check there Deli department...your stomach will thank you as well as your nose. The produce department is competitively price and with some products a little cheaper than the larger supermarket chains. The pastry department is pleasing to the eyes, fresh and delicious too, try the Tres Leche cake...sinfully delicious! They also offer Military and customer discount on certain days and times, definitely worth it and a plus on those days! Like I mentioned a great variety...the staff is friendly and helpful, you owe it to yourself to check out the rest of El Rodeo...

612 SW Lee Blvd, Lawton, OK 73501 Now here is a Mexican store, snack room, with a wonderful price that makes us happy. So much variety, and the service is unbeatable, everyone was so helpful, and all were smiling. Learned one lesson, if a Mexican says it's not tasting hot remember he is used to it so it isn't hot to him. It's been a few hours and my mouth is still burning but in a good way. We bought the Shrimp, Yum it was wonderful and husband had a burrito that he had for two meals, it was so big, this was recommended to us from the girls that work in the office of Lawton Dental and Implants where we go. They seemed to be enjoying their burrito's so we asked where they got them. We will be going back, I saw some beautiful pots and dishes and so much variety of food to try, Thank you to all the employees that work there and convinced me it is the place to come. Loved it and they deserve more...
