We started down Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway and stopped at Bridal Veil Falls, Spearfish Falls, and Roughlock Falls.
Our second stop was Spearfish Falls (47ft). Park at the Latchstring Restaurant. On the right, you’ll see the map, to the right of that, there’s a small hidden platform to see the falls from the top. It just looks like a stream.
To get to the bottom platform, the trail starts on the left of the restaurant. Follow the pathway. A bit steep at first. There are signs of mountain lion sightings so stay together.

Read moreOut of the three falls in spearfish canyon this was nice but not my family’s favorite. The hike is short and moderate on the path which is right next to the restaurant. We had a little trouble finding it as the signs weren’t completely clear. You can not get close to the fall or in the water it is all fenced and marked do not enter. Kids (11,13,15 years old) were disappointed that they couldn’t get wet. Go to bridal veil falls down the road if you want to get in and wet. Nicely shaded path...
Read moreBeautiful falls for the area. A Must see for this area. This is at the corner near Spearfish Canyon Lodge. There is a parking lot for about 30 cars but it was full when we went there. There is a short, steep ut beautiful walk down to see the falls but it only takes about 10 minutes to walk down there. The view is very nice from the bottom.
