I absolutely love AkaiCon. It's not as chaotic as DragonCon or SDCC. While smaller, it still feels very welcoming and friendly. I love the congoers that attend. Everyone is accepting and makes you feel at home. Whether you're in a $1,000 contest winning cosplay, or a $40 budget cosplay, it doesn't matter. Everyone feels like family, like you've known them for years even if you just met them that day.

They have been a reson why the Hotel staff did not allow loud music, drinking outside the bar if we hurt no one they was so anal about everthing then they shut down the entire con at 1:30 i thought a con is 24 hour for the the entire weekend not to mention the elevated did not work for the entire con so i have take to walk to my friend's room who was one we have to we have to walk to 7 for using stairs. Read moreI was definitely expecting a bigger convention considering the proximity to Nashville, but it was definitely an instance of quality over quantity! The dealer hall had amazing artwork and merch, and I spent more here in one day then at any bigger convention I've been to! So many great cosplays (shout out to all the One Piece cosplayers we saw!) and the food and panels were great!
