Was just embarrassed at this Giant Eagle when I tried to use my Perks to pay for my purchase. Since it wasn't listed as my "hometown" store, they were unavailable for use. The purchase earned some, but that was it. Empirical data from this experience shows that the Giant Eagle brand name is not a cohesive unit. Just to be clear, I actually work for corporate OKP in one of the warehouses and was gifted the perks to help replace the perishables and frozen items lost during the recent extended power outage. Since I am on the second shift and don't get out until 10 PM, shopping has to be done either before or after work, and Giant Eagle grocery stores are closed at 9:30 PM in my area. This makes them unavailable for me.
Please understand that the store itself is not the source of my critique, it was fairly decent. My issue is with the decision makers that suggested and approved the idea to foster such a discriminatory policy. (Discriminatory, as in different treatment of individuals or groups based on location) Basically, it should boil down to Giant Eagle is Giant Eagle, no matter which store you happen to be able to get...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying, the rating is for the pharmacy operations only, and not the store, or those who work in the pharmacy...that being said, I think I can count on one hand, how many times I was able to use the pharmacy drive thru these past few months. It is closed for the majority of the time, with a note stating "short staffed" as the reason. The management here, needs to take a long look at this, before everyone transfers to a different pharmacy. How are those with disabilities supposed to walk all the way through the store, since the pharmacy exit is blocked off, and then stand in line to pick up their heart medicine? Or pain medicine? The scooters are few and far in between as well. Maybe make the drive thru a priority, and the walk ups secondary? I know, that makes sense. I no longer need to worry about this, because I switched after this debacle, but I'm sure there are plenty of others who share...
Read moreI go here frequently, but it's usually at night since I work the late shift and always stop by after work to pick up a few things to eat, last night I was shopping around looking for ingredients for my dinner, and the aisle I was trying to go down was blocked by three employees standing there talking they were obviously stocking the aisle but at that moment we're just talking, so I stood there as they continued to talk, all acknowledged me and saw me standing there, yet nobody attempted to move the push carts out of the way for me to get through after about five minutes they finally moved so I could get through, did they expect me to walk completely around to another aisle to go up the same? I think so... It was pure arrogance, then the one guy proceeded to talk to himself about me standing there waiting for them to go through, while I was right next to him looking at taco seasoning..... Very...
