Bonsai Kitchen Bath and Flooring — Local services in Leicester

In May 2024 we encountered a problem with the floor of our 20+ year old primary bathroom floor leaking. It took us until August to find Bonsai, as we navigated several other private and big name bathroom renovation companies. Within 2 hours of inquiring on their website, we received a call from Jason to hear more about what we were looking for in our project. He listened to our needs and our budget and he and Kristin visited the same week to see the property.

At the beginning of the project, we clearly outlined what was most important to us: budget, quality, timeliness, and style (in that order of priority). Bonsai was up front that they wouldn’t be able to start the project until the new year, but they were the ONLY company that came close to the budget we had in mind and we appreciated that they helped us think through variable costs like our tile and fixtures.

The project started in January and would have taken about 8 weeks, but we experienced some delays in shipping a few of our shower fixtures because of the tariffs, which was outside of Bonsai’s control. Everyone working in our house was extremely respectful and clean and the quality of their work was incredible. When we encountered a few hiccups along the road, Bonsai made sure to address right away to keep our project on track.

We finished on budget and with all elements exactly matching the style we had envisioned. We finished a little later than we’d hoped due to the parts availability, but Bonsai worked with us to deliver as much as they could so we could have a functioning bathroom as quickly as possible. They were also very flexible when we decided at the last minute to have their professionals paint because our availability became limited.

We stopped by Bonsai several months ago when we decided to remodel our outdated kitchen. We had stopped by a couple other showrooms but still had no idea what to expect or the steps we needed to take. What really made us confident we were in the right place was how knowledgeable Rob, the manager, was. He was thorough and took time to show us plenty of options, without being pushy to make any sales.

They set up a measure at our home and Jason and Kristin came out to talk more with us about the construction, design and what our goals were for functionality and aesthetics.

After redesigning our kitchen with Jason from a clunky area to be an open welcoming space we locked in a cabinet design with a realistic rendering that was beyond my highest hopes.

It was easy to build a relationship with the team at Bonsai Kitchen Bath and Flooring not only because they were personable but because they were honest and committed to building the kitchen I had in mind to a T (making adjustments to make sure I was 100% satisfied when needed), not the kitchen that suited them.

Through the entire process - the difficulty of your kitchen turning into a construction site, the dilemmas of what to choose - I knew I had the most competent builders in my home and talented designers in my corner.

Okay, I have to admit that I was attracted to this place because we grow bonsai and we live nearby and were planning to redo our bathroom and so had to check it out as we’ve gone by it on Rt 9 so many times. We spent a lot of time visiting so many places for bathroom vanities and fixtures and surfaces and flooring and it can become overwhelming. So it was a relief to meet Rob and Kristin and be treated in a relaxed way like friends and not pressured to buy stuff before we even knew what we wanted. Figuring out what you really want and will enjoy for years is what we were trying to do after all. Here you can relax and work through all the options at your own pace. They have samples of most of things we needed and recommended sources for stuff they don’t carry. Their design sense and suggestions are extremely helpful. The prices are really good too.
