We have lived at The Arlington of Naples since it opened three years ago. Having had a large home for many years in a local country club, our concern was that we might feel confined and get bored....we were very active in our Club. We moved into an Arlington condo into independent living and were amazed at how much room we now had and how much we never used in our home! Not only was our condo comfortable, but freed us of the many menial tasks associated with home ownership...we now had time to spend on ourselves, not things. Our social life took a giant leap forward, we rapidly made many friends, mostly because there were only 175 doors. Each condo has screened in balcony which allows us to enjoy the outdoors. Living here is like going to a high school reunion, you are among so many that are in the same stage of life and the same interests as you...very comforting. We have discovered resort retirement living at it's finest. Many residents stop by the Pub, a great meeting place, on the way to dinner or may stay to enjoy a light bar menu. Activities in our Cultural Arts Center include lectures, dances, vocalists, pianists, and an endless lineup of performers, big bands, movies, cocktail parties. Four dining venues offer everything from light meals to gourmet, which challenge Naples finer restaurants. A well staffed full service salon provides all mine and my wife's needs. Modern fitness and aerobics centers with instructors are included. The indoor olympic size swimming pool/huge spa features water aerobics, and outdoor pool with cabanas and clubhouse add to our outdoor enjoyment. Two social directors organize many activities, giving us plenty of options, including arranging trips to Artis, Sugden, Broadway Palm, ball games, car shows, zoo, museums, shopping excursions, etc. all with the convenience of a bus trip door to door. We enjoyed hearing lectures on cruise ships...now we have them right here. Renaissance Academy, Ted Talk presentations, discussion groups, bridge, Mahjong, practically all card games....and everything, just an elevator button...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile no place is perfection, the Skilled Nursing facility at The Arlington was top notch with very caring staff - shout out to the special nurses and CNA's that helped our mother heal after a horrific automobile accident involving a semi-truck. Day after day for 6 weeks they made sure Mother never had even a scratch or red spot or anything that wasn't there before she arrived. She was bedridden so much at first I needlessly worried and fretted over bed sores but I shouldn't have. She was checked often from head to toe for anything that seemed out of place and if they even thought for a second there just might be? They jumped in quickly and never let a thing escalate. Sophie and Tehe and Jasmine took such brilliant care of Mother. Gloria (sp?) was the uber fun activities and snack cart and just pure joy when she game around twice a day. The food was delicious and most enjoyed by Mother...especially the lobster served on Fathers Day. The physical therapy department was in her room from the first day to help facilitate her heading back home. Every one was meticulous with her care and due to their expertise and help and guidance there is no doubt in our minds Mother is out of there way ahead of schedule. While there will always be hiccups or bumps in the road - they were very few and very far between. We cannot recommend this place enough. We entered scared and frightened of what the future held for our mother and left joyous and never more hopeful. Well done to the nurses and CNA's, to the PT department and activities director, and everyone else that saw to Mother's care. Our admiration and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy very senior mother has been an assisted living resident of The Arlington of Naples for nearly five years.
During her residency, I have constantly found both the staff and administration far exceed what I might expect in such a facility. The deft manner with which matters are attended is uniquely personal and highly professional. The aides are warm, the nurses are dedicated and caring and the administrators seek to facilitate positive outcomes. I never doubt that Momās comfort is paramount to The Arlingtonās crew, and she is extraordinarily fond of the people she encounters.
Although a picky eater, Mom regularly reports that the meals are delightful. The menu varies daily, and special requests are never an issue. Filet topped with grilled shrimp??? She is eating far better than am I!!!
The activity programming is a terrific mix of traditional and more current areas of interest. In my frequent visits, I have observed that there is always something for the residents to do, and they are enthusiastically engaged in the activities.
The physical environment is charming, fresh and scrupulously clean. There are no curious smells that would cause one to raise an eyebrow. Adjacent to Lely Resort, the setting is just plain lovely -- with safe outdoor green-spaces to enjoy on clear days.
It is with great pleasure that I can wholeheartedly recommend The Arlington of Naples. My mother is treated with respect, not like a child. She has thrived in...
