Scheduled a 'family' brunch cruise aboard Miss Gloria for Sunday after from 11:30 - 1:30. We arrived 30 minutes early as advised so that we could complete the waiver (nothing ended up being required when we arrived). Nobody was there to greet us so we signed in on the paper laying on a cheap table out front of the boat. As we walked onto the boat some lady, who didn't introduce herself, very rudely said we needed to get off the boat and go back to sign in. When we advised we already did she told us to get over there! Once aboard we waited around upstairs assuming there would be a welcome or an announcement or briefing but never received any of those. We did secure a good table up top in the back but everything was downhill from there. The boat took off late, around 11:40, and headed out of the dock. It was very hot but the breeze from cruising made it a lot more comfortable. Shockingly, we slowed down and headed into another dock area. Very confused we started looking around to see what was going on only to notice that we were stopping to get gas!! Seriously y'all...we left on our brunch cruise and immediately stopped to get gas with a boat full of customers who were drinking and eating. We sat there for 27 minutes of our 2 hour cruise that took off 10 minutes late. So 1/3 of our time was sitting at a dock. Once we took off from getting gas I decided to walk downstairs on the inside to check out the food offerings only to find a very long line, and a very slow one. It was also extremely hot inside. The cruise was advertised as providing non-alcoholic drinks with an omlete station, pancake station, bacon, sausage, hash brown potatoes and seasonal fruit. Once I finally got up to the front I found out there was NO bacon, NO sausage, NO orange juice (we had brought our own champagne to make mimosas), NO fruit and barely any potatoes. I only took a few potatoes so that others behind me could have some. More than half the menu was unavailable to me and come to find out the staff was already eating, or had already ate. I basically had an omlete for brunch and could not even enjoy a mimosa! To top it all off...upstairs where we were sitting there was a group of drunk people blaring music and drinking tequila straight from the bottle yelling and screaming. Nobody from the crew ever asked them to quiet down on this 'family' brunch cruise. They partied like a Friday night the entire time. We returned to the dock at 1:30 and departed the brunch cruise from hell!!
I had purchased this for my girlfriend as a surprise and thought it would be a nice relaxing, enjoyable cruise to enjoy some brunch with mimosas...I was SO wrong! If I could give ZERO stars...
Read moreWe went on a brunch cruise, but our experience was quite frustrating. Initially, we left the dock but immediately turned around and returned, spending a significant amount of time just sitting at the dock.
It had been raining that morning, and the website indicated that we needed to be there in person to determine if the event was canceled or not. We tried calling the phone number listed online, but there was no response.
Despite the uncertain weather conditions, we decided to go ahead with the brunch. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions and strong winds, the boat had to turn around once again, leaving us waiting at the dock without any communication or direction for at least an hour. Eventually, they informed us that we could board another boat at no additional cost.
However, when I called the lady in charge, she mentioned a charge of $20 per person, in addition to a $20 parking fee. Considering the disappointing experience we had already endured, we didn't feel this was worth it.
We've been trying to obtain a refund multiple times, but each time we call, we are told she's busy with another customer and to call back tomorrow.
When we do call back, we're assured of a refund, but nothing ever happens. Dealing with this situation has been frustrating, and we've essentially lost $175, not including the...
Read moreWhat a difference Sam's made in order for us to book and rent jet skis online! I was able to book online, sign waivers and get a confirmation very quickly by going to their website. Pier 121 was a great choice since afterwards, we could go to the restaurant at Pier 121 and enjoy cocktails and dinner. Finding our way to Sam's rental was a breeze with Google and the signs they had around the parking area. Inside the check-in center, there's coolers with drinks and a small shopping area in case you forgot something. Our jet skis were waiting (we were running a little behind but a phone call to let them know we were on our way was a polite reminder to hold them for us) the staff were very helpful, nice and knowledgeable and got us going very soon after we arrived and signed the waiver in person. Our jet skis worked great and we had a blast on the lake! I rented them for 3 hours and since we were running a little behind, it turned out to be the perfect amount of time so I would recommend at least renting for 3 hours instead of 2. We had a great time...
