Great people, great services, great apartment complex!
I had a fridge issue almost end of the day on early January 2024, opened a case in the Residence App and the Avalon email connected me to Victor Burgos, who saved the fridge. He was about to finish his work for the day but he put his priority to help the apartment resident! This is why I love Avalon and live in this apartment complex! Thanks Victor for saving us avoid wasting our food!
In 2020, every businesses and communities are suffering from the pandemic. The Avalon team is keeping the community attractive, opening facilities following health guidelines including gym, swimming pool. While it is limited compared to previous years, I respect the team providing the best they can. In addition, the team is providing fun virtual events such as trivia night, paint night, holiday recipes. It is a lovely place to live even during this challenging days.
Shuttle services to Alewife station every weekdays morning and afternoon. Event for community gives us chance to speak with neighbors such as BBQ during summer, halloween for children and Christmas holiday event. Maintenance team is really helpful from minor appliance replacement to unexpected issues. Residents' portal makes life easier when you have any request. Simply open ticket, then Avalon team will takes care for you. When having an issue with home appliance, raise a ticket and maintenance team will come quickly as possible and solve the problem.
Chris is a great guy from the maintenance team, he came to solve the fridge issue with strange sound and burned light bulbs inside. He analyzed fridge using tools, analyzed back and identified only the light is causing a problem, not entire fridge. We are impressed with how he took the steps to find the problem, not simply replacing a light bulb.
Michael is the go to guy in this apartment complex. I would recommend to speak with him if you are interested in this apartment, or you are resident but haven't got any chance to speak with him.
Avalon team is keep making residents life better! Renovations are done in many apartments already in last year, new kitchen shelf with brand new appliances are installed, bathroom is also refreshed!
Mustafa from the maintenance team is another great team in this Avalon at Lexington Hills. After he took the work order through the portal, he calls us for the best time to come, checks the problem and never seen him anything unresolved!
Great apartment, great community, great...
Read moreWe've just moved to Avalon at Lexington hills and had an outstanding experience of getting on-board to the Avalon community. A BIG THANKS to Jenna Fitzpatrick for taking such good care of our requirements and finding us a good apartment. We were able to select the apartment and finalise the paperwork before even we moved to Boston. As were away Jenna's extended help with providing pictures as needed and prompt replies to our concerns made it very easy to get this done seamlessly. Thanks to Micheal too for assisting us out on our moving day. Also much appreciate the prompt replies and help on our questions in following days. Kudos to the team, keep up the good work!
To mention about the community; this is a nice and quiet community with good facilities to offer. The free community shuttle to Alewife and lexpress city bus (ticketed) service is good to get in and out of the community on weekdays. Weekends might be a bit difficult if you don't have a car. The community is clean with ample parking spaces and good paths in and trails around to walk, jog, bike etc. As told there are multiple community events for the residents that sounded fun like BBQ party (which we missed this time), halloween party (which we are looking forward) to etc. are nice perks.
A few suggestions/observations: Apartments at the corner of the 'L' structure bldg. do compromise on the resident's privacy as the windows peep into each other. However the management do acknowledge and apologise for this drawback (which we felt was a nice gesture) but not their fault and there is nothing they can do about it. The storage space monthly rent is a bit higher, should be considered to lower if possible. We haven't used it as of now but would have considered if was the later. The package delivery service at the bldg. needs to be well organised which is worked upon as the mgmt advises. We see packages sitting all around the entry area. You literally have to dig into to find your packages. This is mainly for amazon deliveries however if you mention 'drop at the door' note on your amazon order delivery - problem solved most of the times. Apt# boards around the community s/b installed. Our poor uber driver had to loiter around the whole community to find us as we just missed pass her.
Rest all looks good so far. Looking for a long and pleasant stay...

We’ve been living here for about 5 years now, and I want to preface my review with some positives first:
Maintenance Team: I can’t praise the maintenance team enough! They’re incredibly courteous, always do an outstanding job, and are very friendly. Special thanks to Drilol and Rudy for fixing the wall in our bathroom recently — it looks as good as new! The Lawn Area: The large lawn shared by the main buildings is a wonderful and safe space for kids to play, which has always been a huge plus for us.
However, over the past couple of years, things have taken a turn, and unfortunately, it feels like the quality of life here is slowly declining. Some changes that have been implemented feel a bit passive-aggressive and have left us feeling disheartened:
Lounge Area Restrictions: The lounge area in the leasing office, which used to be a great place for small gatherings, is no longer available for residents. While I understand that some misuse may have led to this decision, it feels unfair to penalize the entire community. Removal of the TV in the Lounge: The lounge used to be a great place to catch up with neighbors and watch games together, but the TV has been removed without any explanation.
Gym Downgrade: The gym was once a highlight, but they’ve recently removed the displays from the treadmills and some of the furniture without any prior notice. It’s frustrating to see these amenities being scaled back without communication.
Upcoming $30 Parking Fee: This one is especially disappointing. Parking, which has always been free, is soon going to come with a $30 fee. (To clarify, I’m not talking about the garage parking, which has always been a paid option — and where, despite paying, I once had the unpleasant surprise of finding my car’s wires chewed up by our friendly little free residents.)
For the rent we’re paying, I had hoped the quality of life would remain consistent, if not improve. When we first moved in, it truly felt like we were living in a premium apartment community. Lately, however, it feels like we’re being charged extra for every little convenience — things that once felt like standard perks of living here.
I sincerely hope management takes note of these concerns and works toward restoring the sense of community and value that originally...
