This was my first visit to Tricoci's for a hair style.
Not knowing what to expect in terms of service or performance I was taken aback after service was rendered . . . as with must things in life there was good and there was not so good (notice I did not say :"bad"!)
Let's do the "not so good first . . .
At the behest of my wife who was never happy with the results of a fresh hair style from my then choice of stylist at another salon, she strongly recommended that I "try" Tricoci's salon (with whom she has never had a less than stellar experience.)
So, as a well-trained husband I went to Tricoci's web site, set up an account and sought an appointment for the "earliest available on New Years Day, 2015". It turned out that the earliest available was 2:00 PM, far removed from my request for an early appointment but, since my hair needed some attention I accepted it.
Well, I got to my appointed time, met with the receptionists and Bobbi, my appointed technician, all of who who greeted me with great smiles and friendliness. So far so good . . .
During my visit I found that the salon was not particularly busy that day, the main action having occurred the day before (everyone getting ready for New Years Eve parties and gatherings.) When I asked if I had simply "missed" the New Years day crowd I was told, no further enhanced by a response that I could have come in at 10:00 AM when the shop opened, which would have made my experience with Mario Tricoci spectacular but alas, this made it excellent at best!
The primary reason for returning to Tricoli will be Bobbi, my hair technician who did a spectacular job on an old, poorly cut head of hair! She took her time, she listened to my hair issues and problems and then, and only then, put her training and skills to work!
The result . . . I have seldom been as happy with a cut as I was after Bobbi completed her magic; I will surely be a returning customer (already made the appointment!). Additionally, I feel that this made up for the oversight of the web-site reservations system (although I would strongly urge you to correct this lack of synchronization!)
My reason for this review is simply because when a rendered service is bad . . . most folks shout it from the housetops, however, when good, oftentimes nothing is said. I come from a group that believes that if bad say so, if good, you have a duty to say so as well!
While a customer can reward an employee with a tip for services rendered, I believe that an employer should likewise recognize exemplary employees too . . . whether recognition as the employee of the month, etc.; the method is yours to determine but It...

Original review: Leaving the spa after a pretty decent massage as far as technique goes but very poor on professionalism and client services.
Went in for a 50 minute massage. Explained to therapist that I’ve been feeling very tense with a lot of tightness in my back. She started by working on my back. When she got to my arms and shoulders she moved my right arm so it was hanging down and apparently I wasn’t relaxed enough for her because she told me I needed to relax more. Fast forward to the same thing on my left shoulder. I was really trying to let her move my arm and shoulder freely but she said “ok, that’s not you relaxing your arm.” When I replied “I am, I really am” she argued that I was moving it on my own.
This completely ruined the zen I was trying to enjoy from my massage and left me feeling frustrated, defensive and even more tense than when I went in!
Furthermore, I turned over for only the last 5 minutes and she never even got to the front of my legs or arms.
I’ve had probably 50 massages in the last 20ish years and have never had this kind of experience. When I finished my service and Nanis asked how I felt, I was honest with her that I don’t feel relaxed at all and I thought the way she handled it was unprofessional.
I asked for a manager as well when I checked out. Waited more than 5 minutes for her to come talk to me and when I explained my frustrations, she only asked if I’ve had massages before and encouraged me to book an 80 minute next time. She did offer to comp half of that future service but nothing for today.
I’ve been going to Tricoci salons for nail, spa and salon services for about 10 years and I am so disappointed with this experience that I’m not sure I will return.
I’ve now paid $130 to feel more tense than I did an hour ago and quite angry at the way the manager handled it.
If a different manager at Tricoci reads this, I sincerely hope you will reach out to me. I had a 9:45 massage at Tricoci...
Read more0 STARS! PLEASE PLEASE DONT GO HERE! DID NOT GET WHAT SHE SUGGESTED AND CHARGED ME MORE THAN SHE TOLD ME. The person that did my hair was nice and I truly don't want to be mean. But I was so sad with the result of my hair. I have dyed my hair with box for years so I understood that my hair might not take ombre and leave it orange. So she suggested to do a balayage and dye it a soft rose gold and dye the top dark. She showed me a picture and everything, so I said yea, sounds great! But oh my god... she highlighted everything. I hate highlights! She said balayage but she gave me highlights.. then she dyed everything really pink. It was the pink I originally wanted (the pink was suppose to be on the top then fade to a soft pink towards the bottom). When I said that it looks a lot more vivid from the picture she showed me, she said it looks more intense than it will be. I said okay. MY HAIR WAS HOT PINK WITH BLACK STREAKS EVERYWHERE. It looked so bad... I went back to fix it, she dyed it black on top and bleach the bottom part to all match one color. There are place both top and bottom that she missed when redying... it looks so bad. It didn't come out ANYTHING like she suggested, at all. She said balayage with rose gold. I ended up ombre with black hair on top and hot pink at the bottom. It honestly felt like she was winging it without informing me what she was doing. She said she was doing one thing and went the other route. I need to go somewhere to fix this. Plus, she said it would be $220 but when I went to pay it was $250.
They wont listen to you, wont do what they say they will do, and will charge you more than you...
