It's been a little over a year since Highlands installed our heat pump and we've enjoyed the air in the summer and the heat in the fall/early winter. During the initial consultation I really appreciated being able to ask questions and have them answered. A day, or so before before the installation started, I had asked about changing the location of the unit from the side of my house to the back side. They worked with me and were able to do that for me. They also had to do some duct work replacement to give me more air flow. Also, during the installation they discovered an issue in my electrical panel where my breakers at some point and time got hot and melted. With that information I got an electrician in to upgrade and replace my panel and entrance making it safe for my family. The Honneywell thermostat is pretty nice too. Connect it to the wifi, download the app and you can control the temp in your house without being there. We were very happy with the work performed and the performance of the unit. About a month after the installation our blower would run, but there was no air. So I contacted Highlands and they had a tech out that day. The service tech discovered that earwigs had gotten in to a component and caused it to short out. After he replace the part it worked fine and there have been no issues since. He suggested from time to time spraying an insecticide around the unit to discourage it from happening again. I do and it's been good.
Then in Nov. we noticed a slight fuel smell when our oil furnace would run. Happy with the pervious work/service they did for me, I contacted Highlands again. This time to have the furnace serviced. I believe the service tech again came out the same day that I called. And again he discovered the issue, replaced the part and we had no other issues after that.
We have been very happy with the services we've received through Highlands. I would recommend their services. And if you're considering a heat pump, definitely look into it. I can't say enough about the heat pump,...

They are not transparent with customers about how they will be charged. Then they send a bill weeks or even MONTHS after. They charged me $30 to tighten a screw on the bathroom faucet while they were here fixing the water heater one time. Then, another time , didn't show up for a scheduled appointment. Been waiting 3 months now for the shower cartridge they ordered to be replaced. 3 months! To top it off, they charged me a "Misc" fee to "diagnose" the shower cartridge problem that they still have not fixed! "Diagnose"? I CALLED THEM & told them that the cartridge was bad & I needed another one. Why do I even have a bill for incomplete work? They offered to let us borrow a few electric heaters if needed them until they installed the new one. We had enough but it was a kind gesture especially with 3 young kids in our house. They ordered everything right away and installed it quickly and professionally. They offered to show me how it works and made sure everything went smooth and worked properly.
