This is a response to a 1 star review by Elizabeth Denney “The owner sighed while pulling off the sticker.”Georgette the proprietor sighed because as a business owner it is disappointing that some customers come in and switch pricing on items and sometimes steals items from her shop. It is very frustrating for any small business owner to have this happen. Business owners can put up to 90 hours a week to provide an enjoyable shopping experience. I worked in retail at the Mall for 10 years and witness people stealing and the attitude is it’s a big corporation they won’t miss the money. This is why sensors are put onto valuables and clothing which raises the price. Small business owners don’t have the luxury of having someone backing them if they have a loss. The business owner now have to come up with creative ways to not have things stolen or price changes. Some items in Georgette store is for props and not for sale. Once you got to your car and started thinking you should have gone back in because you said you had a nice conversation with the business owner. She would have gladly taken the item back and maybe you could have found something else. No one is responsible for your feelings. That is your responsibility. I have known Georgette for over 20 years as a business owner and many people come to her shop because she spends a lot of her time shopping and building 80 percent of her wood products herself. Her husband planes the wood from trees and then Georgette takes over and saws the items into shapes and then paints and designs her one of a kind that you can’t buy at any big box stores. She uses the band saws and nail guns and hammer and nails. There are many steps to get to the primitive look. So glad you are not going back who need...
   Read moreI went in one Saturday afternoon. Walked around a couple times just in case I missed something. When I brought my items up to the counter and thought I had a polite conversation with the owner. She said she knew that the utensil holder wasn’t priced at that amount but she would give it to me at that price. She sighed and ripped the sticker off. At the time I didn’t think much about it. So I paid and walked to my car. Then I thought about it for a little longer and thought was she accusing me of swapping price tags? It was a used Mainstay red utensil holder... if I remember correctly Mainstay is a Walmart brand but that’s besides the point. I was completely insulted by her. So therefore I will not go in again or recommend it to my clients for home...

I have never heard of any business doing this and not sure if its allowed under Visa rules/regulations.
