I brought my 5 month old puppy for an interview. First off they made me wait 15 minutes after they double booked my interview time and took the liberty of cancelling the earlier time (even though I verified the earlier time the day before!).
The literally gave my puppy less than 5 minutes and brought him back out to me and said he’s too anxious and ended the interview. This dog is 5 months old and has never shown any anxiety! He plays super well with dogs at the dog park, managed extremely well in his crate left alone for long periods during the day and has never shown any signs of separation anxiety! The claimed he was trying to get out to find me, based on the videos I could see , he was trying to play with the other dogs! They did not even give him the opportunity to be introduced to the other dogs so this was such a knee jerk evaluation seeing that they didn’t even give it any time.
I have a certified dog trainer that was SHOCKED to hear they labeled him as being anxious and not the right fit as he said they are clearly confusing energy and excitement for anxiety.
Dogs with energy are the ones that need doggy daycare services so if you have a super sweet dog with lots of energy, do not waste your time setting up an interview, go...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Camp Bow Wow in Lindenhurst. From the interview to the reasonable pricing, to the website to the staff, the groomer, the manager, and even the webcams so you can check on your fur babies!! We boarded our senior dog, PJ for a week in August of 2024. While he was there, the staff noticed that Pj wasn't feeling well and not eating. They went way above and beyond because they were so concerned about him, they took him to be checked out at their vet, who was also wonderful. Lindenhurst Animal Hospital. They definitely tried to contact me and when I couldn't be reached, they called the emergency contact. Pj was treated at the vet and is ok now. Everyone involved was amazingly attentive and compassionate to my old guy 🩷 we highly recommend Camp Bow Wow and will continue to Board Pj and maybe even have...
Read moreComet’s favorite words are walk, treat, and CAMP :) Every single camp counselor at bow wow genuinely loves dogs and takes such good care. We’ve been regular customers for over a year and not one employee has ever seemed like they were phoning it in. They also have generous drop-off/pickup-up hours and a live video stream. We can’t afford to send our Comet as often as we would like to, but when we do he’s noticeably better behaved for the next two days after getting all that exercise and play time. Comet was also terrified of car rides until we started doing occasional camp days. Now he loves getting in the car even if it turns out we’re going to the vet lol! We’ve also done overnight boarding there and we feel SO much better knowing he’s at a place that he’s familiar with and...
