I personally wouldn’t recommend this school. The principal does not take accountability for serious issues. For example, there was an incident where a student threatened another with a knife. I learned this directly from the student who was threatened. When the principal found out, he didn’t contact the parents, and when questioned, he claimed it “wasn’t an actual weapon.” Whenever parents try to discuss concerns with him, he often avoids conversation — literally turning his back instead of addressing issues. The principal claims to be anti-bullying, but when bullying actually happens, he doesn’t seem to know how to handle it. As for the teachers, their behavior changes whenever the superintendent or principal visits — they act completely different, which feels dishonest. One teacher, who previously served in the army (which I respect), sometimes seems to take his frustration out on students, which can be intimidating. Another teacher makes crude comments, tells students that our opinions don’t matter, and has even said that “we don’t have rights.” This teacher also makes comments offensive towards religious people. For example, they use the Lord’s name in vain and justifies their actions by saying “God gave me permission to do that.” Personally, I think this teacher needs to be aware that these comments are offensive and that they need to be more respectful. This school spends a lot of effort trying to appear perfect instead of focusing on what truly matters — student safety and well-being. For example, they enforce assigned seating at lunch so that 7th and 8th graders can’t sit together. When students asked the principal why, he refused to give an answer. The school also emphasizes the IB program, but most students — and even some teachers — have expressed that they don’t like it. Overall, as a current student, I wouldn’t recommend sending your child here. The environment doesn’t feel safe, and leadership doesn’t seem willing to listen or take...
Read moreIf possible, I would rate this school zero stars. The principal demonstrates a lack of professionalism and sound judgment. He appears more concerned with enforcing minor rules, such as keeping grade levels separated during lunchtime, than addressing serious safety issues. When a student brought a steak knife to school, the principal dismissed the incident and insisted it did not constitute a weapon. This response was deeply concerning, as it minimized a situation that clearly required immediate and serious attention. Additionally, the school promotes itself as being “anti-bullying,” yet there have been multiple incidents that suggest otherwise. For instance, when a student was insulted and called “fat” by a classmate, the school failed to take meaningful action. In another incident, a student was deliberately struck with a hockey stick during gym class, resulting in visible injuries, yet the administration took no appropriate disciplinary or protective measures. To protect the mental and physical safety and well being of your child, don’t bother...
