In the past, I haven't had any issues with the Plano facility until this last visit to the new location with my son. First, I've never seen long lines that move slow in the past (could have been the day or time 2pm on a Tuesday).
Second, when we got to the information (check-in) desk we were notified that we had everything but a birth certificate (Okay, my bad as I should have looked online for everything we needed to bring).
Third, back home we went to get the certificate and went back later (4:15pm) line went a little quicker and the front desk checked all the documents and moved us to a seat to wait for the next attendant (there are 10 stations). 1 hour 5 minutes later we were called to station 5 where we met a Younger women perhaps in her 20's long straight black hair that talked very fast. She asked questions very fast (suggestion to please slow down so we can understand what you're saying) and my son did answer them. Then she said this was an invalid Birth Certificate and I told her the front desk already checked it and moved us on ... it's what the County gave us. She said it says void on the front which was correct (so no one can make a copy of it) and then she proceeded to the front desk and after a few minutes said they cannot accept this because it doesn't have a raised stamp (REALLY- after an hour and 15 minute wait) because the incompetent desk clerk wasn't knowledgeable enough about Birth Certificates. This is for verification of identity and by this time the supervisor should have stepped in and accepted it as a courtesy. They give it back to you anyway ....
Lastly: If they were to come to a store like Marshalls and had to wait an Hour 15 minutes in line to return something and it was a few days over the return time; you can bet a manager would accept it because they know what service is supposed to look like. All I ask is for the Manager of this facility to find out how this happened and ensure the women at the Front Desk are knowledgeable so someone doesn't have the same experience I had. Unfortunately, I made a formal consumer complaint toward his facility. My hope is it gets addressed, corrected so the parties involved can be more effective in their role at...

I had a scheduled appointment to get my license renewed & they were awesome. The young lady who assisted at the entrance was very welcoming, detailed, & informative. There was no wait time for me after walking in. I presented my documents & then stepped over to take my pic. I sat for maybe 2 minutes for the next window. Debi, I believe her name is, was a joy as she was patient with me while looking up my county as I discovered it was divided into 2.🤦🏾♀️ She went through the rest of the questions with me & then completed payment. The staff seemed like family as they interacted with one another similarly to how I do with my own, but on a professional level. No one looked like they needed to get away from anyone.😂 I wasn't there even ten minutes. I got my print out license until the hardcopy comes. On my way out, there was a very unruly woman who apparently came expecting to be serviced before her appointment time. The entrance attendant handled her with such grace. She wasn't upset nor did she reflect the tone that she received. Out of all the DMV's I've been to in my life, this is the only one that's not had security present. I was amazed definitely after seeing the entitlement. Keep up the...
