2023 Update:
Went to Macy’s at Livingston Mall today to look for the women’s rain jackets shown on their website. I parked on the upper level by the Men’s Department. Couldn’t find the rain jackets anywhere. Asked a saleswoman and she said they were on the lower level with the luggage. I go down to the first floor, see umbrellas but no rain jackets. Try to take the escalator back up to go to my car but the up escalator wasn’t running. Fine. I figure I will have to go out into the mall and take the mall’s up escalator. But, that escalator wasn’t working either. I wouldn’t even consider taking the Macy’s elevator (assuming I could find it) because they had large fans going to cool the store and the escalator was broken which tells me they were probably having an electrical problem. The only way I could think of to get back to my car was to exit Macy’s on the lower level, walk up the hill around the parking lot to one of the upper level entrances, go back in the store to cool off then exit through the Men’s Department to where my car was parked. Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention, I am 71 years old, the temperature was 85 degrees with very high humidity and a thunderstorm was imminent. So now I have two questions: why is this Macy’s still open? Why is this mall still open?
Three years ago:
I stopped in Macy's Livingston tonight and was shocked by the piles of clothes all over the floor. I was in the women's sportswear department and I couldn't even walk through the racks without stepping on clothing. I don't know why the customers(?) are throwing the clothes on the floor, but shouldn't the staff be picking them up? I'm surprised no one has tripped and fallen on them - I almost...
Read moreIf you're looking for men's dress clothes, there's a significant selection of high quality, more pricey choices, but also really nice and affordable pieces as well. I had a return item with me and no receipt, but having the credit card I used and the box(it was a pair of shoes)made it an incredibly simple, easy process. Also a great selection of Mens jackets, everything from dressy, but warm wind breaker styles up to beautiful pea coats and high quality leather jackets. I spent $600 on one jacket and still walked away with four total(Calvin Klein leather and wind breaker style, Tommy Hilfiger wind breaker and the Marc New York brown leather was the expensive item, but easily worth over $1,000 in the city)for under $1,000(worth well over double on their respective websites)total after a couple discounts from membership and the holidays. Staff is quite good, they're not in your face at all, but when you need something, there's always a register close by with an employee available to assist you if there isn't someone stocking shelves in your immediate vicinity. Obviously this isn't Willowbrook or Westfield so the overall selection is limited in comparison to those locations, but that also leads to a lot less foot traffic and overall chaos. So if they have what you're looking for specifically, or at least generally close, I doubt you'll be unsatisfied with your experience....
Read moreI primarily like Macy's because they have stuff that just fits me and makes me look good. I'm an older person and I like to wear my capris and jeans so I want something I can be comfortable in. Macy's provides that for me. (I sometimes go elsewhere to get jeans but when I went this time, the jeans are so much more outlandish and totally unsuited to someone like me although they like to claim that they have a pair of jeans for everyone! Nope, not true! They were all called skinny this and rock star that! And no capris that I could've bought!) So I went to Macy's and was so pleased with my purchases, I went back again the next day and got more tops! The reason I gave them 4 stars though, is only because I've NEVER seen Macy's look so junky and disorganised! I mean, finding the stuff I wanted was akin to a treasure hunt, which might have been fun if one actually had the time to spare! I really hope they get it together by next year!
MACY'S! IF YOU'RE SEEING THIS, PLEASE HIRE MORE PEOPLE! NO ONE WANTS TO BE PLAYING TREASURE HUNT, AND THEN WHEN YOU'RE EXHAUSTED FROM THAT, YOU GET TO GO PLAY "JOIN THE LONG LINE BECAUSE WE'VE ONLY GOT 2 CASHIERS ON THE ENTIRE FLOOR EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE SALES AND SPECIALS RUNNING!" Get it together, Macy's,...
