Wow, I have never before been treated so poorly. Today I was met at the door by Ross who demanded to visually see my membership card. Ross was professional regarding this request but wow so overkill. However, after I closed my conversation on the phone this did not sit well with me. So I went to speak to the manager on call. His name was Preston. Preston was really blunt and unprofessional. He started that I signed an agreement to visually show the card at the door and there is nothing he can do to change store policy. So I held the only thing I have over him and told him to cancel my membership. On the way to the counter, I spoke to two different customers asking how they felt regarding this policy they agreed with me. Preston told me he did not even see where we are coming from and I was the "oddball out". I told him I can not believe that I pay 130.00 a year for the privilege to be treated this way. At the counter, Logan checked me out and Logan was extremely professional. He listened to me and acknowledged that I was not the only one to complain regarding this policy and many others have said the same thing. I was the only one willing to cancel my membership over it. I knew that this is an often conversation for the staff because they all knew where the policy was and were more than willing to show me where I signed in the agreement. Preston in the end said that he is sorry for the way I feel. I told him he is not and reminded him of the entire conversation. He acknowledged that he did not see or even understand my opinion. I told him that the way he treated me could have changed the entire conversation and the outcome. All he did was say sorry have a great day. If anyone up the chain is listening I hope first of all that you realize a friendly reminder about your card is great no one wants to do all their shopping and not be able to check out. However, I'll bet such a "great organization such as Costco would let you look it up and buy it anyway. This would take you much longer and people would just make sure that they have their cards with them. We can not purchase or leave the store without a card. At the end of the entire experience, I feel that Logan should be the manager and Preston should be retrained on how to respectfully have conversations with customers. Great job Logan.
It is hard to believe that an organization the size of Costo treats there executive membership holders this way. In a small valley-like cache this will not fly. Cache Valley is not a big city where we tolerate this kind of attitude. I wish I had this entire situation recorded to post on my YouTube channel. You can bet that I will talk about it for sure. I will also tell everyone I know the professionalism of Preston the manager. I will bet you that no one from Costco will even reach out to me regarding this manner. That is for the little stores that this chain is running out...
Read moreSo we are usually Sam’s Club members. But figured when Costco came to Logan Ut. We would try to support both warehouse stores. We on average spend 400$ at both establishments. Cost of groceries going up. You go where you get the bang for your buck. Especially with 7 kids. We have loved Sam’s Club for 20 years. So naturally we thought we would have the same wonderful experience with Costco. Today I go and at Sam’s Club I like using self checkout no matter how full your buggy is. Well they wouldn’t let me. Then as I go to the regular register the lady is loading up my groceries and throwing my bag of potato chips I asked her nicely to please don’t throw them because I don’t want crumbs. I even offered to load them up on the conveyor belt. But she had her way of wanting to do it. So I dare not get in her way. There was another woman assisting her not counting the lady who was ringing things up. So I couldn’t have my daughters help. My daughter was talking to the other lady so hopefully she would be more respectful of our groceries. Well the lady apparently didn’t like me saying anything once I moved she continued throwing things to the point I get home with a whole chicken that had a hole in the bag that didn’t when I picked it up. But leaked in my car. Thankfully it was in a box. Anyway Sam’s is my favorite place and we want renew our membership to Costco. They just want to rush you out. There is only 1$ difference in price really...
Read moreWent to Costco today and was treated very poorly. I showed my membership upon entering as I always do and then was very rudely told that I must show my membership before I could go through self-checkout so they could make sure I matched the photo on the card. After doing so another employee came over to the self checkout register and demanded to see my membership. He was very rude and then quickly moved on to demand someone else's membership. As I was checking out I noticed that several items I had scanned were not the prices that were listed as I had shopped around the store. When I asked an employee they just told me they hadn't had time to change the price signs on items so it was currently a higher price. I asked another employee to check and they said they would send someone to go check the price. After 5 minutes another employee removed the items from my order so I could finish checking out and said an employee would help me over in the merchandise pickup area. I waited for 10 more minutes and two different employees came over and both were very rude and treated me like I was trying to cheat the system and just get a better deal. I piled the items on the counter and walked out. I have been an executive member for over 10 years and I am done paying for a membership to a store that has such poor customer service. I will be cancelling my membership and...
