Bill's Sporting goods is by far the best small, family run sporting shop in Wisconsin. My parents knew the family who owns this store for many years and it is the only place we ever go for guns, service, gear, ammunition and other necessities. Even though the store is smaller than a larger store like Cabelas or Gander, you get the outstanding customer service, personal attention and honest advice from Ken. Anything they do not have in the store, they will order exactly what you want and his prices are always better than the larger places. I bought a Browning 12 gauge limited edition shotgun for a lower price than the standard edition gun at Midwest shooters supply down the road. Not only did he give me a lower price than the competition, he also included a 15 dollar cleaning kit with the gun for free! What service! Those sort of things keep customers coming back year after year and that is why they are still around and strong! While in the shop getting service this past week, a gentleman came in and said he came all the way from Green Bay because of Bill's Sporting Good's reputation. I go to school in Madison and I will wait for months to buy gear or pick up equipment in order to get the best price and best service. I highly recommend this store to anyone who is serious about hunting and wants to get the best advice from a gentleman who...
Read moreHands down, this is a terrific place to go for firearms for anyone in southeast Wisconsin. The friendly reliable service is above so many of the big name stores around here. I have always been treated with respect and dignity even when I ask question I am sure most people take as common sense. Sometimes I believe I know the answer but best to ask a professional and be absolutely certain. Don't take my word for it and go see for yourself. I tell many friends and people I meet to try this, and it is well worth the few hours. Leave Milwaukee, stop at Gander Mountain look at guns and ammo prices, stop at Cabellas next on the way and compare their prices with guns and ammo, even stop at Midwest Shooters Supply at the same exit as Bill's Sporting Goods and look at their prices then go the 1.5 miles off the freeway to Bill's on the Hill and I can almost guarentee you they have beaten every price on guns and ammo. Next time you are looking for a gun and/or a new gun store to call home, take the drive and time to stop at all 4 places and I assure you Bill's will be your next home...
Read moreOther stores in the area are doing well at going after each other's throats with their "fast moving/cookie cutter" inventory that the masses enjoy. Bill's is a true sporting goods store; between a gun shop and having what you need for everything else, not what they want to sell because the profit margin is better.
Knowledge of staff is second to none and very friendly to work with. Bill took time with my wife on her first shotgun purchase and made the experience very pleasant given her experience (she shoots pistols but never has been exposed to shotguns.)
There is a reason my family has been buying fireams from Bill's over the years. I am glad places like this...
