IGA Market Fresh - Hickory NC — Local services in Long View

Went to the deli at IGA to get cold cuts. The lady behind the counter was sweeping and cleaning up as it was around 4pm. I got her attention and told her what I wanted. She leaned the broom she was sweeping with against a trash can and proceeded to open the sliding door on the cooler where the cold cuts are. She did this without removing the clear gloves she had been cleaning with, nor washing her hands. I asked her if she going to change the gloves because she had been sweeping and cleaning with the gloves she had on and she said "Si"(yes), which I doubt very seriously she would have if I hadn't said something, and she DID NOT wash her hands before putting on another pair of gloves. I tried calling several times to speak with a manger but no one would answer. I'll not be going back...

Galaxy is now Piggly Wiggly in name only until September 5th,2022. On this date Galaxy grocery store will officially Piggly Wiggly. The store was clean with clean walls. Did not go into the restroom so, I can't say if they're clean or dirty. The items are a little high on some items but not all items. The cashier was really nice and actually talked to the customer (s). The deli case is small probably like the size of five or six foot wall opening. This store has come a long way compared to how it used to look like almost ten years ago. This store is in a good area where there's decent looking small homes. A nice church across the railroad tracks from Galaxy. Anyway yes I'd come back if I need...

Alright, here's what happened. I came in the store with $6. All I needed was butter and an apple. I'm at the register and the screen says, $1.59. I said, for one apple? The woman says, yeah. I said, I'm not paying that for one apple. I pay for my butter and picked up a pack of chocolate wafers. Both were on sale. Here I am stumped thinking about why one apple would almost be $2.00 I drove home still thinking about it. It's PER POUND. I knew something was wrong. Typically one apple would be about .50 cents. My choice is now, go back to Galaxy and complain or find another store. Guess I'm going...
