China View Restaurant — Restaurant in Long View

This place, for years, was the Go To restaurant for take out Chinese. Best in Catawba County. Not anymore! Ordered last night and the taste was awful and the serving size was minimal. I was shocked bc that is so Not the China View I grew up eating. For 2 generations I have bragged about this restaurant. Nope. Not anymore. Ordered chicken chow mein and it tasted like I had ordered it from China Moon which btw is the Worst Chinese restaurant in Hickory. Could only eat half of it and honestly felt nauseous shortly afterwards. Looked like it had been prepared in a home kitchen not a restaurant. Tasteless and the serving size was a joke. The original owners and the 2nd owners, who were family, were the best. Someone new must be running it now. Again. Very disappointed very. Noticed they updated their online site as well. And they use an answering service also when the store phone lines are busy. They didn't know what they were doing! Bring back the family that used to run it because whoever runs it now? They're going to run it in the ground. They won't make it if the food continues to taste like it did yesterday. For YEARS many people have eaten here. My own children (adults now) grew up eating China View. This is sad. The Best Chinese restaurant in the county has slowly become the worse. Used to look forward to my once a week China View meal. I was excited to.go get dinner here. I ordered Cantonese Chicken and wontons . The wontons had a pea size amount of Cream cheese. All wrapper and and hard.charged me $1.30 of the sauce that should of came with the order. Then my chicken was burn and the veggies were nothing but mush. So disappointed. This use to be a good place to eat and a good value for the money. I'll not be back for dinner. Plus the younger man was nothing but rude when I asked why he charged me $1.30 when the sign says .75 cents? That's messed up. All I can say is I hope you have better plate then, I did. Honestly, this place has to be underrated. I've been coming here for YEARS, at least the better part of a decade, and the food has always held up to the 1st time I ate here. Even switching to being a vegetarian, the food is still just as good as it's always been, and the options are still as great. I love everything about this place. It may seem like a "typical small town Chinese joint," but I can assure you this place competes with the top dawgs in the area. If the quality stays consistent with where it's been all these years, then it will remain a personal favorite.
