Finding this gym was a dream come true. I moved from Virginia three months ago and had been going to the same gym for 6 years (it’s one of the nicest gyms I’ve ever been to, so it’s hard find another one to live up to it). So, a new gym was one of the many things I had to look for after moving here. Over the past 3 months, I tried 5 gyms in the Longmont/Frederick and surrounding areas before finding this one. They were all either limited in equipment or space, way too crowded all the time with high school kids, have weird/ridiculous rules, too expensive for the quality of the gym, or just not a good fit for me/up to my standards. I went and toured the gym with my husband as soon as I could, and the owner, George, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He was also super accommodating with me coming to officially sign up the next day around 8pm after work. The gym is very clean, has a really cool black & red vibe, and has all the machines & equipment I’ve ever needed. George and his two sons are always very polite and friendly when greeting people who are walking in and out, and they truly make you feel welcome with how genuine they are. This gym is truly top tier and I feel so lucky to be able to come here. You can tell that this family-owned business had a lot of thought and work put into it down to even the smallest details like the cool looking key fob, and it makes me love it even more. It does get crowded at the peak hours in the late afternoon/evening, but I’d expect nothing less with such an awesome gym, and Longmont is an up and coming area from what I’ve heard. They’re also adding a huge expansion very soon which includes a basketball court and doubles the size of the whole gym. When George showed us the new section during our tour, it was easy to tell that they’re ensuring that it’s as best as it can be with the new machines/equipment and the placement of everything. I quickly purchased a membership after meeting with George Lopez (General Manager) and receiving a tour. Ironically, two months into my enrollment, I had yet to utilize the services I was paying for. I eventually decided to capitalize on the free trainer session with Dr. Alexander (Alex) Schepler (Director of Training). After determining my health status and fitness goals, Alex showed me exercises to assist in reaching those goals.
I was eventually offered the option of hiring a personal trainer at the end of the free session (for a nominal fee). Upon hiring a trainer, I was set up with Tom Mahan, a kind, charismatic, and focused fitness guru with a sense of humor and a huge heart. Over the past six months, Tom has dedicated time to developing exercises specific to me and guiding my progress. Not only has Tom focused on my goals while catering to my obscure wishes, but he is exceptionally patient and humble. He takes the time to listen to you.
